I have visited this restaurant many times before, but this experience was particularly disappointing. I came to celebrate an anniversary with my girlfriend, yet this was completely ignored despite my note in advance. The service we received was poor, and I felt that the server treated us with disrespect and may have been racially biased against us.
When I mentioned that the veal sweetbreads tasted quite tough and asked whether the dish might have been overcooked, the server did not explain the cooking method or check with the kitchen. Instead, they started explaining what part of the animal sweetbreads come from. After I raised this issue with the manager, no effort was made to change our server, and the server did not seem to recognize any problem with their behavior.
After we finished our main course, I was aware that the restaurant often offers dessert proactively for special celebrations. However, after leaving us waiting for quite some time, the server casually asked whether it was our anniversary and said that if we didn’t want dessert, they could arrange one for us—while gesturing a menu in front of my girlfriend’s and my faces in a rather flippant way.
This will likely be my last visit to this restaurant.

Poor bland food and service that is mediocre at best.
They took 45 minutes to serve an omelette even though the restaurant was not busy. When it finally arrived, it was cold and poorly prepared. There was no butter and no bread options. I even asked for a piece of bread to eat with the omelette and was told they do not serve bread at brunch. No bread or basics. For around 100$ meal.
Only stale and dry pieces of baguette served with the tartare.

AAA This may have been the best breakfast I’ve ever had
BIRCHER MUESLI, ORGANIC STEEL-CUT OATMEAL, AVOCADO TOAST. yes I tried all three and all three were delicious not cheap atmosphere mediocre, I expected a little more chairs were slightly uncomfortable but here’s what really got me $8 for an English breakfast tea REALLY for a bag of tea. Such a great experience, kind of ruined it by the cheapness of this restaurant, charging an outrageous price, would I go back absolutely the food was delicious. Maybe the best of the best I’ve ever had in regards to the breakfast

Definitely one of the best restaurants in toronto. Went on a very quiet Wednesday night. Order the wagyu steak which was delicious which also came with some incredibly delicious mushrooms and had the panna cotta for dessert which was extremely small but nonetheless delicious.
A couple of extremely well-made rye-based Manhattan cocktails rounded out the menu. My only complaint if I had one was that they did not have any bourbon whatsoever due to it being banned by the Ontario government but I do believe that a restaurant and hotel of this stature could track down some bourbon because many bars in the city do still have some available.
