  My fiancé and I had such a great experience dining at Anejo. We had the their beef, chicken and fish tacos as well as the mussels. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Salomon made our evening even more special - his professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire dining experience feel effortless and enjoyable. He was patient, knowledgeable, and offered excellent menu recommendations. The atmosphere and music of the restaurant was perfect and truly enhanced our overall experience.

  I went here on New Years for my mom's birthday. Overall a big disappointment, but could be the result of the restaurant kitchen being short staffed that day rather than an ongoing food quality issue. Positives: 1. Sangria (5/5) was very good 👍 2. Servers were attentive even though they were busy 3. Appetizer: Salsa Spread (4/5) and Guac were very nice. Chips (3/5) were OK Negatives: 1. Coconut Shrimp (2/5) was dry, and the fried but did not have the right texture and surprisingly expensive ($17) for the quantity provided 2. Tacos (0/5 for Pork, Chicken, Fish) All of us agreed the whole taco order was unacceptably poor. This was a surprise because we figured Anejo would specialize in this. The chicken and pork tacos were dry, overcooked, and the flavour was bland, and the seasoning wasn't done right. The fish tacos were dry and tasted like they were frozen / reheated and not fried properly. Worst of all, the taco soft shells were obviously not fresh and I've had store-bought shells that tasted way better. I would have sent this back if the staff were not slammed and it wasn't my mom's birthday. We wanted to like this more but unfortunately the food quality was very poor, especially considering the level of quality you'd expect at the price point

  I initially ordered a taco mahi-mahi. It was dry and overcooked. I told our server Vas and she even acknowledged it looked overcooked. This validation was impressive cz most servers don't want to openly acknowledge a mistake (from the kitchen). I then ordered a dish my friend said was good ie. scallop esquites (corn medley with chorizo). This one was to die for! I gobbled it up and could have licked the dish! Scallops were seared to perfection and the esquites were so flavourful. Vas and (manager?) apologized for the first dish and said there will be no charge for both dishes. I can see not charging for the first, but also not charging for the more expensive scallops dish was going above and beyond 🤩! Great f/up and friendly service throughout our meal. Vas said mahi mahi (her fave) is usually tender so it was probably a one off and suggested I try again next time. I gave 4 stars only cz l had to return 1st dish otherwise would be 5 stars. Vas handled the situation with grace and professionalism. I walked out a happy camper with a free delicious meal. All restaurants make mistakes and this one rectified beyond my expectation. They won my heart ❤️ and tummy 😋. See you soon!

  When we arrived the place was empty and the server sat us directly beside the only other group on the patio - I asked to move tables The service was extremely slow and we waited over 15 mins just to get our waters. The slow service continued and the only person who seems to care was the bus boy who brought our app. We received the absolute bare minimum service and the tip reflected that. Lots of other options in the area that provide a much better experience for the value.

  Añejo has always been one of my go-to places. Even though it’s more of a bar-style restaurant, they’re super accommodating for non-drinkers like me. Their mocktails (virgin drinks) are actually really good, and the happy hour pulled barbacoa is solid. But the sauces?? Top tier. Literally unmatched. Just a heads up, it’s always superrrrrr busy at night, so definitely book ahead, and expect longer wait times for food. The one thing I don’t really like is the guac, but overall still a spot I enjoy going back to.
