Went in for dinner before a show. Order taken, food and drinks delivered. Fish and chips were good. Our server, Sonya, returned when we were done eating our main and still had half a drink, asked if wanted anything else, we responded not right now. Server proceeded to ask if we wanted one bill or two. No offer of dessert, nothing. We said we’d take the bill later. We were met with a look of annoyance. We did eventually order more but the server was clearly less than thrilled to be serving us. Officially put me off of this place.

Came for a Liverpool game with 16 of our friends and Trisha was incredible. No issues, fast service, and just incredibly nice. I had the Slumdog and it was crazy goood. So much fun for a beautiful Saturday afternoon

A great experience. Food was delicious, atmosphere was lively and modern, service was a tad lifeless but it didn’t bring down the mood too drastically, just some excitement or enthusiasm would have been nice.
Mini-sausage rolls to start were the highlight, and I could probably eat 1,000 of them. Chicken sliders were a bit on the plain side but were still a welcome appetizer. The mains - a cheesy leak pie and bangers ‘n mash were very good as well, with good, strong flavours, I do just wish the latter had came with some peas.
We thought the prices were incredibly reasonable given the location and quality, and we left very satisfied after arriving fairly hungry. Would return.

We were at Elephant and Castle for lunch prior to a show. We have been here several times. To book ahead for a table is easy to do online. The waitress was outstanding. The food was terrific. My only thought was, there should be a seniors or lighter fare items on the menu. Our food was terrific but the size is just too much to eat for a senior. We asked our waitress if we could order from the children's menu, where the size would be more suitable, but were told no. It was disappointing. With the cost of food and eating out and sometimes budgeting, it is also a waste to throw food away.
Just a suggestion. Never the less, we always enjoy our time at your restaurant. Thanks so much.

Absolutely phenomenal experience here last night (St. Patrick's Day)! Grabbed a bite to eat before watching the show at the Royal Alexandra Theatre next door & could not ask for a better experience. Extremely busy yet seated in less than 5 minutes & service was prompt, friendly, & super efficient.
The food was incredibly delicious (it's been so long that I had an authentically delicious poutine that I just HAD to finish it ~ the gravy is AMAZING), well-portioned, & presented nicely without being overwrought. The atmosphere has an excellent blend of popular / busy yet with a cozy, intimate feel at the table. Even patrons at the bar looked like they were in midst of everything going on, yet appeared they could easily be on their own without being bothered by others.
Excellent menu of various beers, wines, & spirits too. My only regret is not being able to try the dessert menu, but I was so fully satisfied by my appetizer, entrée, & beverage that I had no room left. Although I grew up in NW Toronto, I avoid going downtown whenever possible, but I'm already planning to come back down here again once the FIFA World Cup begins in June to watch a match or 2 because the atmosphere suggests it would be 2nd only to be at the match itself (& I'm not paying the going rate to attend a match in-person).
Thank you, Elephant & Castle, for being such an absolutely fantastic establishment to spend a night out on the town! SLÀINTE!
