  I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at East Side Mario’s was frustrating enough to warrant one. We came in as a large group (6 adults and 7 kids), and right from the start things felt poorly handled. No child seats were offered or provided, which is a basic expectation with that many young kids. Instead, we were seated on high chairs in front of the bar, even though there were larger tables available at the back that would have been far more appropriate and comfortable for our group. While I understand that bigger groups can be more work, the automatic 18% gratuity felt completely undeserved in this case. We were split across three separate bills, yet still charged the full gratuity, which set a poor tone right away. The bigger issue was the service — or lack of it. The restaurant was clearly busy, but that does not excuse being essentially ignored. We were not offered refills on soup, no additional bread was brought out, and we often had to ask multiple times just to get basic items like plates and utensils. Each request felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. What made it worse was watching other tables receive noticeably better and more attentive service while ours was overlooked. It genuinely felt like, because the tip was already guaranteed, our table was no longer a priority. I understand that busy days happen, but basic service standards should still be met — especially when gratuity is automatically added. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and we would think twice before returning.

  We had such a great experience, thanks to Betsy and Darya! They were both incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Their positive energy really made the whole atmosphere feel warm and enjoyable. They checked in at just the right times, made sure everything was perfect, and did it all with genuine smiles. You can tell they truly care about their customers. Definitely one of the best service experiences I’ve had—thank you both!

  We had a wonderful experience at East Side Mario’s! Darya was absolutely amazing—she was polite, humble, and served our food so nicely, making us feel very comfortable throughout our visit. The food was delicious, especially the garlic bread and tomato soup—both were outstanding! We were a group of three (two adults and one child), and even my son loved the food, which says a lot. The kids’ menu is fantastic with great options. Overall, it was totally worth it and great value for money. Highly recommended! 😊

  My adult son and I went on Thursday evening (I am using my wife's gmail) and we had a fantastic server Kim. I remember thinking to myself that excellent service is coming back after a lull during Covid. She was truly concerned that we were having a great meal and night. She was always available and bantered very easily. She anticipated our needs way ahead of time. Kim made our night exceptional. I have my faith back that there are great servers.

  We had a fantastic experience at East Side Mario’s thanks to our server, Betsy. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We were part of a larger group, and she handled everything smoothly without missing a beat. Betsy made sure our orders were taken quickly and accurately, checked in often, and kept drinks and food coming right on time. What really stood out was how she went the extra mile to make everyone feel taken care of—especially making sure the kids at our table were served promptly. Her positive attitude and efficiency made the whole meal enjoyable and stress-free. It’s not easy managing a big table, but Betsy did it with professionalism and a smile the entire time. We’ll definitely be coming back, and we hope to have Betsy as our server again!
