If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
I walked into this Subway 10 minutes before closing. The open sign was on, doors unlocked, lights on, and the store was clearly still open. I greeted the employee, who came out from the back, and asked to order three footlongs.
His immediate response was, “We’re closed.” I asked what time they close, and he said 8:00 PM. I pointed out that it was not yet 8:00 and that there was plenty of bread available. He then admitted he had everything, yet still tried to refuse service.
He put on gloves, then suddenly demanded that I pay first, claiming he couldn’t take payment later. That is not how Subway operates, and I explained that customers order first and then pay especially if adding items. He refused and repeatedly said he needed to close, even though the store was still open.
It was very obvious this employee simply did not want to do his job and was attempting to shut down early. The entire store had already been cleaned, which tells me employees are closing well before the posted time and refusing customers who arrive during operating hours.
He also claimed the location does not accept any coupons or offers, which sounded like yet another excuse to avoid serving me.
Because of his rude, dismissive attitude and refusal to provide service, I left the store without any food, despite arriving during business hours and being ready to place a full order.
This is unacceptable customer service, poor training, and a clear failure in management. Employees are required to serve customers until the official closing time, not decide on their own when they’re done working.
I will be contacting upper management and corporate regarding this location, as the lack of accountability and professionalism is completely unacceptable.
