Extremely disappointing experience. This restaurant is not the same since Jerry was there, and unfortunately, we will not be returning. We went for dinner tonight and waited over 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, it did not come out at the same time, leaving some people finished eating before others had even started. With several young children in our group, this was incredibly frustrating—kids were hungry, upset, and restless. The food itself was not good, which only added to the disappointment. This place used to be a regular spot for us, but the quality and service have clearly gone downhill. Our server, Sam M, repeatedly blamed the delay on takeout orders being busy. At one point, she stated that “the manager only has two hands.” When we expressed that we may need to leave due to the excessive wait, we were told we could go to the kitchen ourselves to speak to the manager. That is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Rather than helping the situation, Sam deflected responsibility, which made an already poor experience even worse. We were never offered refills, and despite being a larger group, half of our party consisted of small children ordering simple items like pizza and fries, which should not have taken this long. Overall, the service, communication, and food quality were all lacking. What used to be a reliable and enjoyable restaurant is no longer worth the time or money. We will not be returning.

Chose to come here with my family to celebrate a late Christmas dinner. Showed up before the dinner rush, ordered our drinks and food and waited almost 2 hours for our food. When we asked for an update on our food we were told it was “almost ready” and then we made a comment that we had a toddler that was very hungry and wanted to know how much longer. They “rushed” the kids pizza out for us, which was luke warm so clearly it had already been ready or not warmed clearly enough. Burgers were charcoaled and crunchy, both the bun and the meat. We had waited so long we just ate a few bites and waited for the bill. Was never asked for a refill, nor was the waiter even around to ask us for one. Had no cutlery or anything to even eat our meal once it came out. Was never offered my kids dessert after we finished our meal and didn’t even realize until we got home. Needless to say it was a waste of 3 hours

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time after moving to Peterborough. I was shocked to see how busy the location was! Jenna was amazing, doing double duty as hostess and server. You go girl! I will ask to sit in her section every time, thanks for sharing a laugh with me!

My sisters and I, along with my nephew, have a tradition of going to Swiss Chalet for the Festive Special before Christmas (Much like many families/friends have as well) This year was the last time we will do that. We will find somewhere else to go. First, my sister's arrived before I did and were in line for a while, fair enough. Sometimes, you have to wait to be seated. Then they got to the table, got water, and a drink for my nephew. Waitress never returned to their table. No cutlery was placed on the table. At least they had a menu. Then I got there, sat down and the waitress came back asked if we wanted to order drinks, sister's ordered a Ceasar and Pepsi, and I ordered a coffee. We made our food order, which was 3 festive specials with white meat. And the meal from the kids menu for my 4yr old nephew, which included a salad and pizza and an ice cream Sunday. Then, we waited, waited, and waited. No sign of server. My sister's ceasar never made it to the table until half hour in. Waitress said, I forgot about your drink and giggled. Like, what? My nephew should have received his salad at least because at 1 1/2hrs in, he was starving. I wanted to walk out, but my sister's didn't feel comfortable. Then the couple who were sitting beside us said they had been waiting forever, and when their food finally came out, it was cold. Again, I wanted to leave. Then another couple across from us walked out, and they were there for less time than us. Another couple sent their food back for being cold... it was insane. When the person brought out our food, finally, they served the adults before my nephew, so he had to see our plates and be without causing an upset. When my sister said that it was a very long wait, he just laughed and said we're busy. So is every other restaurant in peterborough, that is not an excuse. In any other restaurant, if you wait over a half hour, the management is going to visit your table, apologize, explain what is going on and how much longer it will be and offer at least a free dessert. So, no, you're not too busy, that is poor restaurant management. The server was clueless and lost, not even on the floor, for most of the time we were there. Never offered anyone refills. We are too polite in these situations. Because we were raised with Canadian values of politeness at a cost to ourselves. But I was fully turned off from Swiss Chalet. I'd rather go to a more upscale restaurant, who has much better management and operations. Your in-restauraunt customers should not be suffering to accommodate online orders. Then, at the end of our meal, we had to remind the waitress about our nephews' ice cream and then again for the chocolates that come with the festive meal. It was horrible. The best part of the meal was the dipping sauce and fries. And getting the hell out of there. Extremely unimpressed and disappointed.

The last two times we had Swiss chalet the chicken wasn’t cooked. Tonight we went against our better judgment and thought we would try the festive specials. The portions are a joke so we ordered extras. Our meals did not come with the cranberry sauces or the extras we ordered. The potatoes are cold boxed potatoes and the stuffing (also tastes like boxed) was dry as can be. Not to mention the chicken was dry. I would expect for a restaurant to offer fresh mashed potatoes, not boxed. If fast food joint can peel potatoes all day then so can Swiss chalet. When we called to complain and told the manager our meals went into the garbage she asked if we wanted replacements. We said nope we don’t want the same boxed garbage. She wouldn’t give us a refund. Only a credit that will be wasted because our family will not be back. My daughter wouldn’t even eat her burger because she said it tasted weird.
