    Sadly, this Swiss Chalet experience was absolutely terrible. Despite many mistakes, including a mix up by our waitress that caused my son to wait 20 extra minutes, there was no sorry or reduced price. We waited 15 minutes after she took our glasses for refills and returned with a wrong beverage. They ran out of the potato bacon soup even before the supper rush. They also ran out of the red wine my mother was hoping for. Never once did our waitress come back to the table to ask if we needed anything. We went without butter and chalet sauce. We only got refills because I leaned out into the walk area. We chose Swiss Chalet because this was my mother’s favourite restaurant for her birthday. Huge disappointment and we left knowing we will not ever go back.

    by far the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. Waited 40 minutes for food, waiter messed up one of our mains then had to wait for it to be fixed in the mean time they must have left the other plate out because when it finally came back out it was freezing to the point the gravy on the poutine was starting to solidify. Took one bite of the chicken wrap and the bacon was freezing cold and the meat was all cartilage. When we asked for the bill took an additional 15 minutes to receive it and waiter didn’t even ask what was wrong with the food or if everything was okay… also a little side note from someone who works in the service industry please make sure your pants aren’t sagging below your apron tie.

    Total disappointment. My kids were really excited to eat there, but when we arrived, they pretended to ignore us at first. Then, when they finally deigned to give us a table, it was another story entirely—it took forever for a server to come over and take our order. We ended up giving up, the kids were practically on the verge of tears when we resigned ourselves to leaving; we didn’t even get an apology when we expressed our disappointment. P.S: We’re Black. Deception total, mes enfants étaient tout excités d'y manger, quand nous sommes arrivés, ils ont d'abord fait semblant de nous ignorer, puis quand ils ont enfin daigner nous donner une place, c'était une autre paire de manche pour qu'un serveur vienne nous voir et prendre notre commande, nous avons fini par abandonner, les enfants étaient limite au bord des larmes quand nous nous sommes résignés à partir, même une excuse nous avons pas reçu quand nous avons exprimé notre déception. Ps: nous sommes black.

    We had the pleasure of being served by Emma, and she was exceptional! She was polite, energetic, and genuinely sweet, making our dining experience very enjoyable. Most of all, her courtesy stood out—she made us feel welcomed and well cared for throughout our visit. Highly recommend asking for Emma if you get the chance! Emma your the G.O.A.T

    *Update 18 Mar 26: My original post gave 1 star for poor service a month ago. As I said I like Swiss Chalet food and returned a few weeks later. This visit went smoothly. It was a weekday not a weekend and I used the drive through. The food was delivered to the window promptly and all was in good order. So kudos to the staff that day for a pleasant return. Positive review needed to be made. ORIGINAL: No issue with the food. I like Swiss Chalet food or I wouldn't buy it. The take out experience leaves a lot to be desired at this location. I can only assume its because it's chronically understaffed and overwhelmed by the demands of online orders so real live customers at the counter or drive thru are left listening to grass grow and pondering the meaning of life. Very poorly managed. I went inside and ordered 2 family chalet chicken soups at the takeout. Thats it. I should've been out in 2 mins. I sat on a well worn chair and waited 20 mins and watched a gentleman who ordered 2 chicken dinners AFTER me, receive his order before my 2 lonely soups. The restaurant did not have a lot of dining in customers, take out orders were steady with a number of uber/skip drivers waiting. A few employees were busy behind the scenes putting together uber/skip orders. Clearly they weren't idle. In fact the lady working at the order desk was also responsible for putting them together and running back and forth to the order desk. In-store customers should have priority. They should also be served as the order is placed. Customers in store always seem to be standing and waiting for lengthy periods of time here. Management needs to increase the staffing levels. They need dedicated staff for takeout /drive thru and separate staff for on-line orders. This is not rocket science its common sense. You cannot expect a smooth operation if you're perpetually short staffed. A successful restaurant has to make a good impression, not just with good quality food at a reasonable price but with good service so the customer RETURNS. No one expects gourmet food from a chain restaurant but they do expect good service. If someone takes the time to physically go to your restaurant whether its take out or dine in they deserve better service. Do better.
