I stopped by Dairy Queen today and couldn’t be happier with my experience! The food was amazing , fresh, and exactly what I was craving. What really made my visit stand out was the amazing service,Naomi went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was friendly, attentive, and had such a positive attitude that really brightened my day. It’s always nice to see someone who clearly enjoys their job and cares about their customers.
Thank you, Naomi, for making my visit such a great one! I’ll definitely be coming back soon

Crazy and delusional lady in the store yesterday. All of the customers gathered together after the agressive customer left, to support Naomi, who was personally attacked by an old woman. The woman screamed “racism” because her blizzard was not made correctly before personally attacking the girl, threatening to ruin her education and get the police involved. Who does that? Justice for Naomi. You go Naomi! Don’t let insecure people bring you down!

I am a regular customer at the Dairy Queen in Marketplace Barrhaven, and the staff I’ve dealt with in the past have always been amazing. Unfortunately, on November 10, I had a very unpleasant experience with a staff member named Naomi, whom I was seeing for the first time at this location.
I ordered a Strawberry Blizzard, which was prepared by a staff member wearing a long black fake nail—something I believe does not meet food service hygiene standards. The Blizzard was about 50% melted, and when I asked why it looked so liquid, Naomi told me that strawberry Blizzards are usually softer and that the machine was not working well. She offered to make me another flavor, but I declined and asked for a refund. Instead, she made another Blizzard that was mostly vanilla with only a few strawberries. When I said again that I didn’t want it, she grabbed the cups harshly, threw them in the bin, and walked away laughing with another staff member.
Another employee nearby apologized to me after witnessing what happened. I asked to speak with the supervisor, who came and listened to my complaint. I also asked her to check the store’s security cameras to see Naomi’s behavior, but she told me she did not have access to them.
While I was speaking with the supervisor, Naomi came back and started shouting at me and my kids. My daughter asked her to stop, and the supervisor told Naomi to go inside and stop talking to us. Naomi went inside but continued laughing loudly.
The supervisor kindly offered to make another Blizzard herself, which was well prepared and not melted like the first ones. I appreciated her professionalism, but the overall experience was very disappointing.
To make matters worse, a teenage girl (who I believe may be related to one of the staff members involved) entered the store and stood near me instead of waiting in line. She was smiling and staring at me and my children in a mocking way. When I asked why she was staring, she laughed and said, “Why, should I not look at you?” in a rude tone.
I’ve always enjoyed this Dairy Queen, but this experience was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. I hope the management takes this seriously, as no customer deserves to be treated this way.

I always have the best experience at Dairy Queen. The staff are always exceptionally kind. They always go above and beyond to make sure that the customers are happy with their experience.
Tonight, we were served by Naomi, who greeted us and made our ice cream. She was very kind, especially when dealing an irate customer while we were sitting in the establishment. A customer was very rude to Naomi, asking her to remake their blizzard three times, with an attitude. Naomi was very kind and re-made the ice cream to their liking. Despite her efforts, the customer began making a scene, shouting and berating her in front of the entire store. She also called her names, wrongfully accusing her and threatening to call the police on her. The customer then began shouting at other patrons in the store, screaming “what are you looking at!?”. Additionally, she began insulting other staff members, making rude comments about one of the staff members’ nails. The incident was very troubling but the Dairy Queen staff handled it calmly and professionally.

A Disappointing Experience – Racism Should Have No Place Here
I’ve been a loyal customer at this Dairy Queen location for years. It’s always been a friendly, classic spot in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, what I witnessed tonight around 9:00 PM was deeply disappointing and concerning.
A staff member named Naomi, along with another employee (whose name I didn’t catch, but she had long nails), behaved in a rude and discriminatory manner toward a Muslim woman. Their tone, mocking attitude, and the way the food was handed over were clearly unprofessional and disrespectful. This behavior does not reflect the Dairy Queen standards I’ve come to expect.
It was telling that another staff member apologized to the customer for what happened, acknowledging that what took place was not acceptable. The evening supervisor also came out, witnessed part of the incident, and asked one of the staff members to go back inside after seeing her rudeness. Additionally, Naomi seemed to have a friend (wearing a green coat) who stepped in from outside during the incident, which only added to the tension.
If Dairy Queen reviews their security cameras from around 9:00 PM tonight, the footage should speak for itself. I truly hope management takes this seriously and addresses it appropriately. This location has always been a welcoming place. It would be unfortunate to see that reputation damaged by such behaviour.
