I had a very bad experience with this location. The Subway app showed this store as the closest to me, so I placed my order online. After walking to the nearby store at 900 Greenbank, I discovered the app was incorrect and the order had actually been placed at 250 Greenbank.
I called the store right away, within 10 minutes of paying and well before the order was supposed to be ready, to cancel. I was placed on hold until Alan, the store manager, was available to speak with me.
When Alan picked up, he repeatedly raised his voice, insisting the mistake was my fault and that the store should not lose money because of it. I explained that I had called immediately after realizing the issue, but the delay was caused by waiting on hold, during which time the order was completed. He continued speaking angrily, saying I was blaming him for not answering sooner while he was busy with other customers. I clarified that I was not blaming him, I was just trying to fix the situation. I do not have a vehicle, I had walked to pick up the order, and I was simply trying to get food for my kids. His tone was harsh enough that people passing by stopped to see if I was okay, and they could hear him berating me through the call, which was on speakerphone.
He said he would call his boss to ask about approving the cancellation but told me not to expect it, then immediately hung up on me.
After hearing nothing for 45 minutes, a neighbour drove me to 250 Greenbank to pick up the food. As we pulled into the parking lot, Alan called to say the cancellation had been approved and was suddenly very pleasant. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable going inside. I thanked him, hung up, and went home. The sudden shift in his behaviour was extremely unsettling.
I am grateful to the boss who approved the cancellation of my order. However, based on my experience and interactions with the staff of this location, I would not recommend this location to anyone and strongly discourage others from visiting this store.
