- JSJan SNov 14, 20251.0This Port Credit Swiss Chalet was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant felt noticeably unclean the moment we walked in, and the overall sanitary conditions seemed extremely poor. Our orders were taken incorrectly, and communication with staff was a challenge — simple requests had to be repeated multiple times and still came out wrong (hiring a staff of 95% international students seems to be detrimental to efficiency). One meal didn’t arrive until almost 30 minutes after everyone else had finished eating, even though we were told it was “on the way.” It was obvious it had been completely forgotten. The food itself was shockingly low quality. My garden salad has spots of rot in the leaves and looked thrown together with nothing but half-wilted lettuce and a single tomato. The fries were dry, hard, and tasted like they’d been fried in overused grease and sitting out for ages. The chicken was unappetizing and looked diseased once I cut into it (nothing like what Swiss Chalet normally serves). I couldn’t finish my meal because it was so unappealing. Overall, this location feels neglected, poorly ran due to the inept staff (which is no fault of the manager as I’m sure she has no control of hiring only international students), and far below the standard of what a dining establishment should be. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant — there are plenty of places in Port Credit that take cleanliness, service, and food quality far more seriously. This place is absolutely disgusting.
