  Picked up a special Lindor chocolate bag for a Christmas gift. Staff greet everyone as they enter with a sample chocolate. Staff very helpful finding the specific flavour I was looking for.

  I came here to buy some Christmas gifts. I was greeted with a delightful sample of Lindt's classic chocolate, which was rich and tasty! Love! The staff here are very helpful. They made sure I knew the best deals going on as well as their newest additions to the store. It did come off as a tiny bit overwhelming though, being given so much information as soon as I walked in. All in all, polite staff here, and such a wide range of options to choose from. Great!

  Where to start with Lindt in Masonville? The staff? Maybe the policy that supports ageism? Or possibly Katie the lovely lovely manager that is a firm believer in that the customer is always wrong? Let’s go through all three shall we? The staff. Absolute garbage customer service skills. My son who went in to buy a gift for someone was completely ignored. Now he’s of the age of being independent, he wanted to shop on his own and good on him for it. When we met up I asked him “no Lindt?” He told me he wasn’t acknowledged at all. So I said “let’s go together. You go in and I’ll wait out front.” So he went in, did three laps of the store, as I watched from the mall hallway he even basically stood right next to a staff member and zero acknowledgment. Back out he came defeated and discouraged. Back in we went but this time to address the situation so I asked “excuse me but what’s the deal?” Here’s where the ageism comes into play. Not one but two staff members told me “we don’t serve to anyone who looks to be under the age of twelve. It’s our policy.” Pardon me? Lindt isn’t exactly a nightclub. If they aren’t going to serve anyone that appears to be under the age of twelve then perhaps Lindt should post that, make it known that “hey ageism is alright with us and it lives on here.” Then hire a doorman to check ID and have one of those nifty red velvet ropes to let people in. Now onto Katie management superstar. When Katie got a hold of me she gave me the runaround. Not a problem. When I explained to her that policy aside, that her staff basically walked a sale right out the door she just brushed it off. Her reasoning that my son was completely ignored both times at that she told me “because we were busy.” Another pardon me moment for myself. Wether your store is beyond desolate or packed to the point that you are in violation of fire codes customer service is everything. Especially in retail. That’s all there is to it. So when I pointed this out to Katie she still just drove the point home that they were simply busy. No excuse. So back and forth we go and I asked her at one point when she was stumbling “Katie is the expression not the customers always right?” She said “nope” at this point I decided to end our lovely little chat so she and her staff could continue disappointing customers aplenty and enforce their policy of ageism. Bravo Lindt Masonville bravo. Oh and Lindt, if you read this give Katie a promotion. She deserves it.

  The pricing here is getting ridiculous. Be cautious of what is advertised on their website as they do not offer the same pricing in the store as I found out after making a special trip in to the store. The Lindor's two years ago were about .40/pc and now range from .71-1.04/pc. Most places offer a deal when buying in bulk which is what I have always done but the pricing is more to buy in bulk now. I will not continue to buy these for my business moving forward as of today, very frustrating.
