  For a restaurant with such a warm aesthetic and promising beginning, it was a bit of a letdown after we were initially seated by a very friendly hostess. Though our order was taken promptly, the last time we saw our server was when she brought out the food. Noone came back to check on us for nearly an hour or to ask if we needed refills. Our children had finished their beverages long before they'd finished eating, and we ended up sharing glasses of water. We could've walked out the front door without anyone noticing if I hadn't gone up to ask a new server coming in to work the dinner shift for our bill. To be fair to the staff, we were there between lunch and dinner, so our server was also tending the bar and chatting up the patrons there. Our food was well below acceptable for the price; my BBQ platter was lukewarm and tasted like it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, and my partner's mac 'n cheese was a small skillet of overcooked mushy pasta. The kids mini cheese pizza looked like it came from a Walmart frozen section. We also questioned portion sizing when we noted that a kids burger and fries was the same serving size as an adult veggie burger and fries. Overall, food quality was disappointing, service was lacking, and with so many other dining options in the area, I won't be going back to Montana's in Kitchener or elsewhere based on this experience.

  I recently enjoyed a great lunch at Montanas located at 740 Ottawa Street S, Kitchener. This restaurant showcases a rustic lodge-inspired decor filled with an abundance of wood and metal elements. This is an extremely laid-back spot to eat, and you'll be greeted warmly in your casual attire. No need to wear your Sundays best. Depending on when you arrive, this place can become quite a lively sports bar in the evening. The early afternoon is quite chill and relaxed. I started with the Tomato Basil soup that was good. I had the Steak and baked potato and coleslaw that is always the perfect choice for your classic "meat-and-potatoes" selection. I added a side of baked beans. I also ordered the steamed veggies that were green beans and peppers. Will return again!

  I had an amazing experience at Montanas! The food was absolutely delicious—everything was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was also really good, and the atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to our server, Julia, who truly made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service was honestly the best! I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service.

  I had an amazing experience thanks to Julia’s outstanding service. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. Julia made sure everything was handled smoothly and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Her positive attitude and willingness to help truly made a difference. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated and kind in their work. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for excellent service!

  My wife and I had an excellent experience at Montana's BBQ & Bar. Interestingly, we live close by but had never tried it before. I usually go to other restaurants. I had a gift card from last year that I had just kept aside until my wife convinced me to finally use it, and I’m so glad we did. The food was outstanding, especially the steak, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Everything tasted great and came out quickly. What really made the experience exceptional was our waitress. She was fantastic, very attentive, friendly, and made sure we got exactly the spice level and cooking style we wanted. She kept checking on us and made the whole dining experience enjoyable. I told the supervisor how great she was. Her name is Anusha. Needless to say, my wife and I promised we will be back again, next time with the whole family. Highly recommend, it’s now officially one of our favourite places to dine.
