The cashier would only put the cards through on separate transactions, which meant I wouldn’t receive the promotion. When I inquired about it, she was insistent that she couldn’t put the cards on one transaction and that I had to purchase $50 on one card to receive the transaction. I pointed out the sign said “gift cards” and not “a $50 gift card”. I decided to try at a different store, where they had no issue putting the gift cards through on one transaction and providing the QR code for the promotion. It seems the staff aren’t well trained or are purposely trained to deal with transactions in a way to not provide promotions that can take away from their bottom line.
