  We love our local ESM. We have two school aged kids and have been coming here since they were young. Great food, super efficient service, and friendly attentive staff. Despite the high volume of customers, the staff here just get it done. I dont think we've ever experienced a mistake on our order. Atmosphere is fun, great music and decor. Can get a little loud sometimes on busy nights, but not a huge issue for us. Extra special thanks to our waitress tonight, Terra, for her help and understanding in a situation where we really needed it! She truly went above and beyond, and all the little extra things she did were very appreciated. Family friendly all the way.

  Came here for dinner with my daughter, her friend and my friend. Service was slow, however it was busy so I can look beyond that. We got our food and my pasta wasn't even cooked. I mean it may have been in the water for 3 minutes? Took me 10 minutes to flag someone down, and they brought it back to remake it. By the time I got my meal, everyone was finished eating (and had been for awhile.) ended up just packing it all up and leaving. For $170 definitely not worth what we paid, especially seeing as I never even ate my meal. No apologies nothing.

  We had an excellent experience at East Side Mario’s thanks to our server, Brianna. She was incredibly attentive from start to finish—there wasn’t a single moment where we had to wait or look around for anything. Brianna checked in at all the right times, kept our drinks topped up, and anticipated what we needed before we even asked. On top of her efficiency, she was genuinely friendly and warm, which made our visit even more enjoyable. It’s clear she takes pride in providing great service. Highly recommend asking for Brianna—she truly made our meal exceptional!

  I had the worst experience at East Side Mario’s this evening. And as a fellow restaurant owner I’m deeply hurt by this experience. East sides is a FAMILY FRIENDLY restaurant. My son stood up in the booth to look behind us and was literally hit with a menu by the patron behind us and when I told her I was capable of parenting my son she responded with “obviously not his greasy hands touched me”. She didn’t try to engage me, she instead WACKED my 4 year old with her menu. I explained to the server that thank you to this unpleasant experience we would be leaving out drinks and taking out food to go. I left the restaurant crying. I do t understand why this patron was allowed to stay after hitting my son. Really disappointed.

  I ordered the fried gnocchi, which turned out to be hard, fried pieces of inedible pieces of potato that lacked any flavor. It was quite disappointing and gross. I my opinion, they have too many options on the menu, making it difficult for them to create dishes that are both tasty and visually appealing. East Side would benefit from focusing on a select few dishes that can be prepared well and tastefully, even by someone without much experience in the kitchen. There definitely isn’t a skilled chef at East Side Mario as the food is hardly fit for human enjoyment and the food is expensive. The restaurant itself could use a significant update; the atmosphere in the Guelph location feels run-down and cruddy. I would NOT suggest this place to anyone.
