I came to this locations a few weeks back, when making payment on the card machine I noticed that the “no tip” option was greyed out/not selectable… a 15% tip was automatically added to my bill without my consent. I had thought to myself that maybe I had made a mistake.
(Note: I was taking out my food, I generally only tip when I dine-in at a restaurant or when I’m at a local privately-owned business. It is my opinion that tipping for take-out food in Ontario is a huge scam, workers already get paid minimum wage or more.. but that’s another story. For further background, I’ve worked in the service industry where I relied on tips myself, genuinely -so I’m not Scrooge McDuck about tipping where it is earned and expected).
Anyway, I returned today and I see that the same thing is still happening at this location -“no tip” is not an option. Of course, this time I was prepared annd was able to click on “custom tip” and I entered 1c.
It is my opinion that this shady practice needs to be called out for the scam that it is.

5 Guys has become one of our go-to places for a good burger...
We are always greeted immediately and our order taken. Free peanuts in the shell to munch on as they prepare our order.. We had a short wait for our order but when you see it being made fresh on the grill, the wait is pallettable
The bun was soft, lettuce was crisp, pickles crunchy, tomatoes ripe - my burger was perfect. The fries are astounding - crispy on the outside and perfect texture on the inside. The extra fries included in the bag and bottomless soft drinks were a pleasant surprise. Will definitely keep this establishment as one of our favs.

⚠️If anyone working here reads this, pleeease take this advice!⚠️
You need to prepare the fries *well-done* as the default.
Every time I've ever eaten here, literally by the time I walk out the door and to my car, the fries transform into a gross soggy inedible blob.
I always immediately pour the fries out of their little sleeve and into the main bag, give them a good shake and never close the bag.
It's like the paper bags are magic - fries go in normal, 15 seconds later they're sad limp and unrecognizable :(
Most of the time I just get a burger here then get fries from somewhere else now.

Absolutely avoid the BLT sandwich, worst I've ever had. The bacon was cooked about 5 minutes too long, hard as a rock and zero flavor left. By the time I was done it looked like their were bacon bits all over the place
