- JJJessNov 16, 20251.0Why do they keep running out of dark meat?! Five or six times I’ve tried to order dark meat here and they’ve been out! It doesn’t even seem to matter what time of day it is. It’s one of the primary things they serve — how can they consistently be running out of it during business hours? I’ve not had this issue with other branches. So unpredictable and such a disappointment.

During Covid, when they were only doing Takeout, they were short staffed and we waited over an hour to get our meals, even though we ordered in advance. Today we stopped in for lunch and can see they were chronically understaffed. Had to grab servers regularly to get our order in and to get refills for our drinks. Certainly not the excellent service we came to expect when we came years ago.

She was super proactive, anticipating our needs by bringjng things to the table just in time (extra napkins, a d extra chalet sauce) without asking. She was very kind to both her customers and co-workers. She is a real gem. Chicken was hot, fries and sauce could have been hotter but I think the restaurant was fairly busy tonight as most tables were occupied and there was steady take out. Restaurant was clean with the hostess tidying up during our visit. The washroom I visited was reasonably clean but had no toilet paper.

I waited patiently, as a 4th person came in and was offered a table before me, despite still standing in front of the podium. I spoke up and was then seated first, but it didn't matter. I was seated, then the 4th person was seated a few tables over. I was ignored, wasn't asked for my drink order. The 4th person has already received their drinks and their food order has already been placed. Having patronized this place for over 30 years, this is the absolute worst service I have ever received (if lack of service even counts) and my last. So long Swiss Chalet. Nostalgia can only take you so far.
