Okay, so first off - I've been to this location multiple times, and it's always been very good before. I haven't been in in a couple of months, and I don't know what's happened.
We'll start with ordering - I never use the app, and I never use the kiosks, because I'm always worried that that's where the screw-ups will happen. I'd far rather talk to a real human, and watch the register to make sure I see that my order's being put in correctly. The girl taking the orders tonight was harried, short with us, and didn't seem to know how to work the register at all. Add on to that, that for whatever reason, there were absolutely no spicy options available - no spicy McChicken, no spicy McVeggie, no spicy things at all. And no explanation as to why. That was okay with me - I was in for the new Triple Pickle Bacon McCrispy, so that's what I ordered, but my partner wasn't too pleased.
On to the delivery of the food. We ordered a Quarter Pounder BLT with NO mayo, so of course it came with mayo on it. Also, the aforementioned Triple Pickle Bacon McCrispy. Which came out as a grilled chicken, with no lettuce, and a very large handful of just regular pickles. No bacon, no lettuce, no pickle crisps, and no pickle sauce. So I went up *with my receipt* to point out that I hadn't gotten what I ordered. They returned it a moment later with crispy chicken, but still no lettuce, no bacon, and no pickle sauce or pickle chips, and the same bun with the same egregious amount of regular pickles. I point out it's wrong again, and go to sit down for a minute while I wait. The sandwich comes back out again, and now it has bacon, but still none of the other things it's supposed to have. It took finally getting a manager out, who had them remake my entire meal. And that's when they got it right. Of course, by that time, at least one couple had canceled their order after watching me go through hell trying to get a sandwich that's on the menu - no substitutions, just what was offered on the menu. By the way, other than the manager, no one working there seemed to have any idea what a Triple Pickle Bacon McCrispy was. Even though it is prominently displayed on the menu above the cash register. And advertised on YouTube, and television. I'm still mystified, really.
To add insult to injury, my mother, who was on this trip, ordered a medium coffee, double cream and sugar with her meal, and got a small with no sugar. I ordered a medium coffee with double milk and one sugar, and I got triple cream and no sugar.
They claimed the ticket machines weren't working in the back, so no one knew what was ordered, or in what order it was ordered, but as far as I know, McDonald's always uses computer screens with the orders on them - not tickets. The tickets are only to attach to the bag, so that they know who's order is who's. And the bags all had tickets on them, so...
I'm going to give it a couple of months and then try again, but if it doesn't improve by then, I'm never going back. McDonald's has become expensive enough that I expect the food to actually come out correct - I mean, what with the way the world is going, I can't afford to be throwing my money away on garbage when I am capable of cooking at home. This was supposed to be a treat, and it turned out to be a dark comedy of errors and incompetence.
