  This was our first time at Thai Express and will be the last. The food was overpriced and not good quality. We preordered online and went at the pick up time. It was very busy, but people came in after us, ordered at the counter and had their food. We believe the employees misplaced our order, even though they said 10 minutes when we arrived. 20 minutes later, they said 15 minutes. Got the food home and were immensely disappointed. Spring rolls were mostly the wrapper with little content. Mango salad consisted of strips of mango and iceberg lettuce. Pad Thai noodles were horribly overcooked and stodgy. It was hard to find the chicken in the yellow curry. It was also odd that you had to "build your own bowl" so to speak. They should know what ingredients are in a good Pad Thai, we shouldn't have to guess and pay extra for vegetables, green onions, peanuts and anything else. We're definitely not going back and hope to find a GOOD Thai restaurant in the near future.

  We were so looking forward to them opening. We even looked online at their menu when we arrived what we had hoped to eat had been already discontinued. The food was made fresh which we appreciated and there were four people cooking behind the scenes. Having said that we were greatly disappointed in the portion size. We ordered three different dishes and mostly what we found in the small boxes when we turned home was rice. Undercooked rice and one of the dishes we ordered was supposed to be noodles. The chicken had no appeal and was rubbery and tasteless. We were a bit shocked that our bill came to $56 for what amounted to three plates of rice. Definitely won’t return.

  I am so excited to have a Thai Express in Cobourg! Staff were incredibly kind, calm, and hardworking. I purchased the medium (spice level) chicken pad Thai. It tasted great, but was quite a bit spicier than medium. I was also a little disappointed with the portion. At all other locations that I have visited, the portion is usually full to the brim. I didn’t see any tofu in my pad Thai either, which is normally the case, even in their chicken pad Thai. Hopefully this review is well received and utilized to make their food the quality that I know it can be. I will back.

  They asked me to leave a review in exchange for a free drink next visit. Prepare for a combo to be around $20-$25. I ordered chicken pad thai as I have always had the same order for almost 2 decades. There wasn't much protein, maybe 1 piece of tofu as well. It's also getting to be disheartening seeing no locals being hired at alot of the news businesses and students can't find jobs. I feel they would benefit hiring local. Just my honest humble opinion.

  I've been (impatiently) waiting for Thai Express to open in Cobourg and they did not disappoint on our first visit! I usually wait a few weeks before trying a newly opened restaurant to give them time to work all the kinks out, but the pad thai was calling me. Food was delicious and how I remembered it, service was great. They were very busy and a customer was complaining to my husband that they were slow, which really should be expected on day 2, jeez. Will be back for sure.
