She said sorry and we would get the next table four so thats alright because she was polite about it. Then we wait ten minutes and they seat two groups of four that had walked in after us and payed no attention and had no apologies for thier mistakes and behaviour although the atmosphere was nice.

When we entered the restaurant we noted the dining room had people in at several tables. My wife and I were looking forward to a celebration dinner and honestly I am a fan of Kelsey's 10oz sirloin steak and for desert I already had in mind their messy cookie sandwich. Both fair priced and delicious and what I typically order so I was pretty excited for the celebration meal. When we entered the dining room server came to greet us and we asked for a table in the dining room. We were told there were none available. I pointed out the many empty tables. The server told us there was now only seating available at the bar. I asked again for a dining room table as I wanted a quiet dinner with my wife. The bar is loud, service is never great so not what we wanted. However, we were told no to the dinning room as it was closed. With no option as we could not have a table in the dining we left quiet annoyed. My wife had called ahead asking for a table and she was not told before we made the effort to drive over that we would be forced to dine in the bar area. I appreciate Kelsey's caters to their staff over customers. Staff can be hard to find and customers can stay or go is the policy. They enforce their policy of closing up the dining room area at 7:20pm. The only places customers arriving at 7:20 or later are allowed is seating at the bar. I would suggest to Kelsey's management to review that policy. To let customers leave the restaurant that have money to spend in the restaurant but instead leave annoyed only reduces the chances we or other customers turned down like that would ever return again. To make the best of it we went across the road to Piper Arms and had a meal. Our evening was ruined because of the server, and Kelsey's policy of shutting down the dining room at 7:20 in the evenings. We were both specifically looking forward to going to Kelesy's for our celebration. Thanks for reading. 2 Stars
