Visited yesterday to have an Easter get together with friends and family Service was beyond hasty despite there being a pretty average number of guests inside for a dinner service and there was no lineup at the doors. They don’t accept reservations for groups under 6 or 8 people so our table was not reserved. They gave the last guest who joined us about 2 minutes (not exaggerating ) to review the menu before asking what we wanted to order. Staff not friendly/warm and about two of them kept checking in on us an obnoxious amount of times. It felt like we were a burden to them for being there. Given we felt like we weren’t wanted there, we didn’t stay and relocated elsewhere for desert and coffee. Food was rushed out and was low quality. Bread felt raw. Sauces tasted watered down. Salads overdone with dressing and were soggy. We don’t expect a Michelin star experience but this was petty bad. The bread and salads/soup came in about 5 minutes after placing an order. entrees weren’t far behind and we weren’t done eating before we had to prematurely finish to make room for entrees. People were still eating and chewing when they wanted our plates. Same happened when the cheque was offered- one of our guests was literally chewing still! I checked my watch as it became humorous and only 33 minutes had passed and we finally gave in and left at 45 minutes. I encourage staff to slow down to make the dining experience more enjoyable and to not make patrons uncomfortable. Food could use extra care and effort.

I’ve been east side many times. Time to do a review. This location is nice. Servers are very friendly and professional. Best part about this restaurant. What I don’t like is some sort of a robot bringing food. This futuristic stuff is in bad taste and noisy music plays from it. Now food…. Everything was excellent. Nice presentation and servings are good. Everything was fresh. Soup awesome as always. Only one dish was below average. The chicken and shrimp with potatoes. Chicken was dry. Tasted bit burned and sauce lacked flavour. Possibly previously frozen chicken. I won’t order that again. Pasta with seafood is better choice. Other than that. Great. Servers made it worth the visit.

It was my first time at Mario’s , and we will definetley be back soon.. as information make sure to go with time because if you’re going on a peak hour be ready to wait a few minutes (in our experience was about 15 min) but totally worth the wait, that’s always a good sign when you step in into a good restaurant, food was awesome best pasta that I’ve tried in Brantford ever, good portions, fair prices, aroun 100-140 for a family with two kids with starters drinks and beer, servers were really friendly and helpful.. good to go for a drink with friends or in a family plan, super recommended, nice place, clean and well organized.. great experience

Server Dshayne really needs to find a new career. 4 other servers had to help us throughout our dinner beginning with drinks (waiter 1) as he was too busy (there were only 5 tables with patrons…with lots of servers working so not sure what that was about…); after taking our order, he brought our soups and bread in one trip - hands full with a risk of spilling our soup as we helped him manoeuvre the bread paddle to the table. Quickly he left us with no plates, utensils or napkins (thanks to waiter 2 at the bar for grabbing us that…). When our entrees arrive along with a second loaf of bread we asked him for more butter. After waiting until most of our meal was done, we asked passing waiter 3 to ask our waiter for the butter, but waiter 3 quickly grabbed some. Not 2 minutes later, waiter 4 brings more butter, not our waiter. No quality check or return visit until we are quite finished and ask for a take out box. No ask for further drinks or anything else but the takeout box and two bills. When told only one bill needed, he questions “just to add the two then?”. Sensing our bewilderment and dead stare, he realized he can get us a new bill. After asking if we needed the debit machine, he was told we had cash to which he replied, “do you still need the machine?” When told no, he said he would return with some change…but he never returned. And so, it is highly unlikely we will either! PS… the chicken parm cutlet was over cooked (dark coating with char on tips and dried out); the lasagna was nothing like the picture and resembled a microwave Michelina’s and very watery.
