ALMOST ZERO CHICKEN in the "chicken" soup
$15 for a bowl of broth (see photo)
My wife had the flu, all she thought she might manage was Swiss Chalet's chicken soup, i drove 35 minutes x 2 to bring home as pictured (not enough chicken or noodles to cover the bottom of the bowl) for $6.77 soup + $8.75 gas

I usually love Swiss Chalet. But issues with food quality, missed items and bad service , has forced a change in franchise location. The worst was the waitress running off for a smoke and leaving our food sitting in the kitchen. When she came back, I overheard her telling a customer she had managed to fit in a smoke break. We had waited approx. 35-40 minutes for our food , which arrived cold. We go to Cobourg now. I believe you need a better manager to manage staff. Currently Staff manage the restaurant and it shows.

Have been going to Swiss Chalet since it opened on Yonge St in the early 60s. It use to be really good. But not so much now. The Belleville location is now a Corporate run restaurant which has deteriorated over the last few years. Not enough staff all the time. One waiteress trying to serve 20+ stations. NOT good if your waiting 20 to 30 minutes for your meal. Decor is old and worn out. It appears that take out is more important to corp. than sit down. If they are going to be spending huge amounts on TV advertising then at least provide the appropriate service that you advertise. I gave a higher score for service because our server was running her tail off to keep up.
Shame.

We went to Swiss Chalet Jan 8,2026 with our son and grandson for dinner around 5:30 pm...our waitress was rushed off her feet . She brought our drinks 20 mins later and then our order...the food arrived 45 mins later...our meals were cold... French fries were cold and limp....no chalet sauce....we had to ask for a take away box as our grand son to go the arena for 7pm....chalet sauce requested and arrived at the table luke warm about 15mins later.....there were a number of people in the restaurant but not enough servers as they seemed hurried and somewhat disorganized...this has to be the worse experience we have ever had from this restaurant as it was one of our favorite places to dine ....it will be probably be our last....it also took 20-30 mins to get our bill sorted out .....not impressed

This restaurant is so run down bench seating smears on grease on the backs , pleather seats ripped and wore out , tables chipped and wore badly . Food was ok . Waitress was very snippy and rude . Correcting you at every turn , felt unwelcome there . This is not the first time but will be the last . Service was super Slow . I like this place at one time but seem’s that they run short on staff , they are very unhappy people . Not a nice experience at all ….
