We had a few challenges with our order & helping a child with food aversions. Kelsey's has always been this child's favourite restaurant, because the food was predictable & safe. The food we ordered was off the kid's menu (with a picture for each item), & something that we have ordered multiple times before. The menu item looked the same on the printed menu, but when it arrived, it was very different. We were notified by the server after it was delivered that the item had changed a while ago, but the picture on the menu had remained the same.
Our server, Emily, was fantastic. She helped us find an item that would be enjoyed, got the food very quickly, made more than 1 change to our order on the fly, & was very friendly & accommodating. Her service was impeccable. It is because of staff like Emily, that we will continue to eat at Kelsey's. When I spoke to 1 of the managers I was told that the restaurant was unable to change the menu with each food change, but they were apologetic.
As a note, Kelsey's as a company need to be more aware of the types of decisions that are made, based on the menu provided. When food aversions are an issue, a printed menu is an integral tool in what is already a very difficult thing to manage. I am find it hard to blieve that a menu printed on a disposable piece of paper can't be easily modified. I understand they are printed in bulk. I also understand that having to pay for a meal that isn't what is advertised becomes financially restrictive & creates a negative experience for a child (& family) who already struggles significantly with being able to enjoy food/eating out. If we had not had a wonderful server, we my not have the desire to return.
Thanks Emily, for making our trip out, such a positive experience!!

Went there today Feb 12th, with my wife and 3 children to celebrate my birthday.. what a horrible mistake. From the jump they gave us an over sized table, unnecessarily, as we only required a booth. For which there was one available, just need to be wiped down and menus. I was told by the hostess it was not available and we were seated at a table for roughly 10 people. When the manager walked by, I stopped her to ask if we could move to the booth, which after checking with the hostess,we were given the booth... our server, at first, was very polite and prompt. But as the night went on, she seemed maybe overwhelmed with all the customers. We ordered the bruscetta flatbread to start, which was great..and then order our mains.. 3 orderd of chicken wings and an order of kids mac and cheese. After a regular wait time our food arrived, and we dug in... my 9 yr old devoured his wings which were cooked perfectly, but my wife and I barely got past our 1st and 2nd wing... upon first bite, my wing was pink like the pink panther, I spat it into my napkin and immediately began cutting into a few more wings.. the next 3 were all the same, undercooked and pink. My wife came across the same thing after her 1st wing. Of course we brought it to the attention of our server, to which she responded she'd have to check with her cooks. When she returned she tried to assure us that all their food is cooked to appropriate temperatures before leaving the kitchen.. sorry, but I've had food poisoning before from chicken and I wasn't about to take her word for it. She offered to change our plates for a substitute or for more thoroughly cooked wings. So I gave them a second go, my wife opted for a burger.the burger she order was a mushroom melt burger with fries. Sadly, the burger was not a "mushroom melt" it had lettuce and tomatoe. Mushroom melts consist of a few things, bread, protein, mushrooms, sautéed onions and (typically) swizz cheese. Maybe the kitchen was off tonight, or maybe this Kelseys does things differently, I don't know.. I was skeptical to say the least of my new batch of wings and used my cutlery to dig in... out of the 6 I cut into 3 were in the exact same condition as the first round and the other 3 (I actually tried them) were not crisper, cooked longer or anything of the sort. They were made the same way, so I was not surprised to find the wings undercooked once again. Note: the dinner rush at this point, was now over. We were compt the wings, which I guess should have been sufficient but.. when the server was "secretly" told it was my birthday we were celebrating.. she was not discreet at all, bringing a menu to my wife while I was seated at the table and said "these are the birthday desserts we offer".. so much for a surprise! First time I've ever experienced that level of "kill the vibe" at a restaurant... when she came to drop off the dessert, just plopped it on the table. Did restaurants stop doing the whole "happy birthday" number?
Anyways, it was a very mediocre experience, stole the special out of my celebration for my kid's, wife and I.. so if you plan to go for your birthday as something special, look else where because it won't happen here.
**update** it has been over 2 weeks, I was given a link to report my issue, was offered a coupon, and when I asked for a refund, radio silence. Do not eat here, you will be at the mercy of people who do jot care about your health,or family!
