  We went here on a rare no-kid evening. We had the festive feast and the quarter chicken dinner. Food was speedy and delicious and service was friendly and attentive. Love the dipping sauce. 😊 Will definitely be back someday.

  I am sad to say that we had the worst dining experience ever at the Barrhaven location. We waited an hour to get our meal, half an hour was to wait for the waitress to come and take our order. We were seated by a window and had to keep our coats on as it was so cold. The side order of farm market vegetables my husband ordered was raw. Staff continued to say that the store was very busy, but there were plenty of empty tables. In my opinion this can be chalked up to poor management as of both on the floor and the back was not staffed properly. People were leaving due to the lack of service. We won’t be back at that location.

  Purchased festive chicken sandwich meal for delivery. The fries were cold; the chicken sandwich was "thrown" together with mostly stuffing and less chicken. The bun was burnt which made the sandwich taste like ashes. Even the chalet sauce was cold! Had delivery several times from Barrhaven location and haven't been satisfied with the food. Last time I didn't get the right order. Ordering from here will never happen again.

  We want to give a big shout out to Megan at this location. Her engagement with guests is next level, and she helped my brother (13 years old) surprise my parents with desserts for both their birthdays. When we had to head out in a rush, we tried to let her know that we wouldn’t have time for the desserts we talked about. She told us to give her 30 seconds, and came back out with both desserts for takeout, on the house! She wasn’t even our server, and still went the extra mile for us!

  We usually order for a family of 4, either delivery or pickup. Every single time they’ve forgotten something, not minor either. One time it was the rack of ribs, another time the fries, the third time was the salads. They’ve always delivered the missing item and that made it ok for us to live with the nuisance, but the last we ordered from them will be our last time. My husband called the order in, but they told him if he wanted a certain item he would have to call the restaurant. So he did. The restaurant told him to call the order line and tried to explain that they told him to call the restaurant but the person was too impatient to help. So he called the order line and they again said they couldn’t place his order so they transferred him to the restaurant this time. He finally orders through the restaurant. So right there, why put your promotional meals or combinations of meals on your website if it’s not something a customer can easily order? The restaurant is clearly too busy to take orders. Pick up was in 45 mins. Once he arrived at the Barrhaven takeout counter about 45 mins later, they told him there was no order placed by him. He showed them his call log and how much work they made him do just to order his meals. He demanded to talk to the manager since he was just talking to a disengaged teenager who wasn’t offering a solution. Manager comes out with a smug face and tells him there’s nothing he can do, since he didn’t place an order. Husband explained the hoops they made him do and demanded the manager to make it right so the manager was going to do his best, so my husband paid. When my husband sat to wait, all customers were complaining one after the other that they’ve also been waiting for longer than expected, some as long as over an hour extra. So my husband got up and got a refund. Management at Swiss Chalet Barrhaven, this is such a disappointment because you truly show that you don’t care about your customers. Having customers wait so long for takeout orders is senseless. I see similar reviews have been posted months back so clearly there has been no sign of change.
