On Sunday, February 1, my family visited the Swiss Chalet location in Aurora, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We arrived at noon and immediately placed a kids’ meal order for our toddler, specifically requesting that it be prepared and brought out as quickly as possible. Despite this, it became clear later that the order was not entered promptly.
As we began placing the rest of our order, the server informed us that no rib dishes would be available for another two to three hours, forcing us to rethink our selections. Several minutes later, when we finalized our order, the server mentioned she would “rush” the kids’ meal—something we had already requested at the start.
During the wait, we visited the washroom and found it completely out of soap. We notified our server, who assured us it would be refilled immediately, yet this did not appear to happen by the time we left around 1:30pm.
Our meals did not arrive until approximately 1:00 p.m.—a full 45 minutes after ordering. What was intended to be a quick lunch became an exhausting ordeal, especially with a young toddler.
The food quality was unacceptable. The pot pie crust was rock hard, the mixed vegetables were undercooked, and the accompanying salad contained pieces of plastic. When we brought these issues to the server’s attention, her only response was, “Oh— is there anything else we can help with?”, offering no apology, concern, or attempt to resolve the situation.
Although minor, unlike other locations, this one makes no attempt to create a good family environment. All other locations would provide three crayon colours to go with their menu - this location provided one and did not have a kids treasure chest - oddly a strong factor our toddler requests when choosing Swiss Chalet. Our toddler also noticed the "robot server" which we kindly requested and the waiter agreed to send - this did not happen but we did notice it went to other tables intermittently.
Overall, the service, food quality, and cleanliness were far below expectations. This experience was shockingly poor, and we left extremely dissatisfied.

Service is very slow at the take out area. Order online, it gave you time when you can pick up. When i arrived 2mins late i still have to wait for my order. Counter were walking around, did not greet or said anything, had to wait a while. A whole lot of waiting.

went with my family. I ordered the chicken club wrap. Beyond disappointed. Food came out cold. The wrap was freeing cold. Told waitress. They warmed the wrap up and brought me new fries. Started eating and felt something chewy in my mouth. It was the bacon. It did not look cooked. Stopped eating. Showed the waitress my concern about doneness of bacon and said I hope I don’t get sick. Her response was I hope you don’t get sick either!
Will not be coming back here again. We got there around 7 pm. Should have taken pictures. Considering the waitress was aware of situation it would have been appropriate to take my meal off the bill considering I stopped eating when I saw the bacon. No compensation at all was given. Word of mouth is what makes or breaks a business.
