Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers frequently reported extremely long wait times, often exceeding 30 minutes, particularly in the drive-thru.
Food Quality
While many reviews praised the food as delicious and fresh, there were numerous complaints about incorrect orders and food being served cold or undercooked.
Staff Attitude
Customer service experiences varied widely; some praised friendly and helpful staff, while others reported rude behavior from management and staff.
Cleanliness
The cleanliness of the establishment received mixed reviews, with some noting it was clean while others reported unsanitary conditions.

Most whataburgers take a while on making food which I’m fine with if it’s fresh. When I got my lunch home right down the street it was cold and they forgot the cookie they charged me for. Won’t be returning. Braums is a much better option.

Typical Whataburger experience...They were all out of small burger pattys so no kids burger or JR burger meal.

Worst what a burger ever. Waited 30min for my food to come out cold. Seen 3 people that ordered after me get their food. When I asked they grabbed a sack and said oh here you go. Asked for a refund and then they became rude.

The food is always great. I just think this place is the slowest Whataburger. When you pull up to the drive thru window, just watch the activity inside. Nobody is in a hurry at all. They even stop and have conversations carrying orders.

11/20/2025 6:27pm drive thru, in Tulsa for work. By far the best Whataburger experience I've ever had. Julian was friendly and helpful. Usually Whataburger employees have that attitude that makes them sound like you are inconveniencing them by being there. This was quite the opposite of that. It might've been friendlier than a 🐤FilA. He was polite and thorough at the speaker, fast but didn't make you feel rushed. At the window, we chatted briefly about the refreshing new Frosted Berry drink before I moved up to wait for the hot part of my order. Julian put me in such a good mood, the wait didn't even feel long.
It's rare that service is good enough to make me dig up the receipt when I returned to the office to do a review 10 days later, but I was that impressed. I'm just disappointed that the QR code for the survey on the receipt already expired so I'm having to do it on GoogleMaps. I hope the appreciation still finds him.
