Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customer experiences with service quality varied, with some praising friendly and attentive staff, while others reported unprofessional interactions and slow service.
Food Quality
Food quality was inconsistent; many customers enjoyed their meals, but there were complaints about cold food and incorrect orders.
Speed of Service
While some customers noted fast service, others experienced long wait times, particularly during busy hours.
Cleanliness
The restaurant was generally reported as clean, contributing positively to the overall dining experience.

First of all, we ordered the two "Whatacatch" and onion rings basically a SCHOOL LUNCH ONLY BIGGER. But what I want to focus on is the care and sincerity of the service. The people working truly cared for the customers and that in itself was heartwarming. The meal was a design of corporate greed (some-type of fish - pounded into a patty shape) yet the employees effort sold the meal. WILL I EVER GO BACK - NO. But I truly appreciate the care and concern of the employees. Thank you, employees for your honest effort.

We come here a lot for breakfast and it’s always good. Checked my sprite this morning and it had mildew chunks floating in it. Management - clean your ice machine regularly so this doesn’t happen.

Went by at 6:15. Ordered a patty melt meal with fies and a unsweetened tea. Order was ready immediately. Meat was tough, bread was soggy and all sandwich dressing was in one glob in the middle of sandwich with about 7 pieces of diced onion. The fries were warm but tasted old and stale from headlamp. My unsweetened tea was sweetened and had maybe 5 pieces of ice in it. I spent $13 just to come home and be disgusted and annoyed. Will never order from this location again.

Asked for a plain double burger and the burger has only 1 Pattie and has lettuce tomato and onions and I called to get a refund and they said they can’t. It’s crazy making the wrong sandwich and not being willing to refund it.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received on January 28th after placing a drive-thru order at your location.
When I arrived home, my son noticed that his burger bun was not toasted. I also ordered a patty melt and discovered that my bread was not toasted either. At no point during the ordering process was I informed that the toaster oven was not working. Had I known, I would have made a different selection. As a result, the food was not prepared as advertised and did not meet expected quality standards.
I contacted the store and requested to speak with a manager. When the manager came to the phone, I asked for her name. Instead of providing it clearly, she asked why I was calling. I repeated my request, and when she finally attempted to give her name, she spoke in a manner that made it difficult to hear, as if she had moved away from the phone. After asking several times for clarification, I requested that she spell her name. While doing so, there was loud noise near the phone, possibly paper being crumpled, which again made it impossible to understand. I eventually stopped asking and began explaining my complaint.
During my explanation, she stated that the store was very busy and that she could not hear me. As a paying customer, I believe it would have been reasonable for her to take a few minutes to clearly identify herself and listen to my concern. Her name sounded like “Yeiel,” but I am unsure due to the lack of clarity.
This interaction was unprofessional and discourteous. Additionally, I feel I wasted my money because the food was not prepared properly. When I asked for the corporate contact number, I was told to look it up myself rather than being provided the information.
I later contacted another location and spoke with Mark, who was extremely helpful and professional, which further highlighted the poor customer service I experienced at the original store.
I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. Customers should be informed of equipment issues that affect their orders, and management should conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.
