As much as I hate leaving negative reviews, I'm at my wits end with this location.
Last week I ordered a medium banana chocolate shake.
I will add: In the past I managed multiple SDI locations for 5+ years. I've used/broken down/fixed these machines for YEARS. When the machines have a period of high usage, they tend to start to not freeze.
Anyways, back to the review. As I sat in one of the first few stalls, I watched the girl struggle with the ice cream machine, and could see the lights on the front, so I could tell the machine was having issues. I watched her go back and forth several times, trying the handle, to see if it was frozen back up. I received my shake after a moderate wait (which I completely understand if the machine is being difficult). As I was handed it, I noticed it was lighter than it should be. Well, thats because it wasnt a shake at all. I guess they got tired of waiting for the machine to solidify back up, and used what came out of the machine liquidy. Blending unfrozen ice cream mix and banana creates foam. Seen it a thousand times. I personally wouldn't have sent this out.
I was going to let this go, however, I decided to call the store after I pulled out onto Sunnylane. I asked if they were having issues with their ice cream machine. She responded with a VERY HESITANT "Uhhhh.... yeahhh?". This was very obviously a lie. I don't appreciate being lied to.
So, in true Karen form 😂 I reached out to Sonic via an online representative on their website. I was nice and professional as I explained the issue, as was the rep. I was offered an apology and an offer to send me a free small shake, and a small sized snack. I can't eat anything from sonic (gluten allergy), so I declined the offer. I was told that the store would be reaching to me to make this right. Well, that never happened. No refund.
I've given them 2 more chances since. The first time was a medium slush, and they got the order wrong. The last and final chance, I ordered a medium slush again. They scanned my order and forgot I was out there for over 10 minutes, until I called back in.
The only positive of this location is the employees are at least nice, and smiling.
