  I’m not one to criticize bc I know everyone tries. I was always ordering food from Charlie Staples before the new owners took over so yesterday was the 1st time since the sale. I was over in Ohio shopping for Easter yesterday and decided to stop and order for take out. The place was packed in the takeout section. As I waited to order, ppl were picking up orders. The lady behind the counter was showing their orders to the customers and I noticed that a few orders were not correct but didn’t think anything of it bc that will happen on occasion. But then it happened again as I waited to place my order and I thought wow that’s not good. I finally got to the window ordered my food had to ask how long it would be, she replied maybe 20 minutes. I said okay sat down and waited. I placed my order at 6:59pm and at 7:51pm my order was ready. Went to the counter the lady showed me my food and my order was not correct! I ordered a chicken strip dinner with Staples sauce on the chicken, fries and the bread. I asked her prior to ordering if the bread comes on the bottom she said yes. Well their was no bread! I ordered an extra side of fries and baked beans. Order had no extra fries no bread and no sauce on the fries that were already there. All that time waiting and the order was still wrong. So the lady took my order back herself and put the bread on top with sauce and gave it to me.. I had also ordered a big Bertha with everything on it but it had so much bacon I couldn’t find the potato. That was not noticed until I arrived home and ate it.i I was so disappointed ☹️ not only bc I waited so long but bc it was wrong and she fixed it by slapping a slice of bread on top with sauce no extra fries and handed it to me. She was a nice lady but totally overwhelmed!! So I decided not to drive from PA to over there again!! If you as the new owners lol were never aware of these complaints before then by reading the reviews now you should take action and fix it!! Time will tell…

  This restaurant didn't give me no fries with my chicken tender dinner and they put too much sauce on the chicken the pasta salad taste like it has just been sitting in the fridge for days on end I'm sorry but I'm never ordering again

  I cannot believe they gave me dry, fried catfish when I asked for the simple & traditional "sauce on everything" (even the fries, especially the fries, and the fish. There were no fries); Hot when they ask "hot or mild" and his new mix (cowboy) sauce was also good at Pittboss. The new owners, however did not honor a $50 gift-certificate I got my 93 year-old step-father and mother for Xmas, even when I bought it they told me they were out of physical cards and gave me a receipt the lady signed. The took my money and his, when they charged him for their food. Glad they kept the Shaq, Kobe and Lebron mural but why would they have painted-over that incredible Marti Gras-NOLA mural in the main dining hall with no art to replace? Looked like it was turning into a pool and dance hall more than a restaurant but the food was good what they weren't out of on the website they make you order from, they no longer take calls. Miss the house across the street on Belmont, Charlie Staples' and (Sonny Man's) Garland's. God bless and I wish you the best - campus and the Northside needs you. The awning and patio will need rehabilitated this Spring/Summer. Thank you for your service, My Father was also a Marine. Guantanamo Bay Basketball Players, 195X.
