  I came across this spot from a TikTok review that made it look amazing, and I was really craving good Puerto Rican food—which, honestly, is hard to find in the States unless it’s done right. My biggest concern with places like this is when they claim to serve Puerto Rican food but don’t truly represent it, especially for people trying it for the first time. I have to be honest—this was probably the worst Puerto Rican food I’ve had. I ordered two alcapurrias, a pizza empanadilla, and a pernil bowl for about $35. I don’t mind paying if the food delivers, but this missed the mark. The alcapurrias had an off taste and the texture was very crumbly—almost like biting into dirt. I couldn’t finish them. The pizza empanadilla was also disappointing—it felt like they just stuffed string cheese and a few slices of pepperoni into dough. If you grew up in Puerto Rico, you know it’s supposed to be done differently: you mix pizza sauce with freshly grated mozzarella and chopped pepperoni so everything blends together, and when it’s fried, it should come out gooey, melty, and full of flavor. This was nowhere close to that. The only thing that somewhat saved the meal was the pernil bowl with rice and beans—it was decent, but still missing that distinct Puerto Rican sazón. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t come back. The overall experience, including the atmosphere, didn’t reflect the culture or flavor you’d expect from a Puerto Rican restaurant. I’m not sure if anyone on staff was Puerto Rican (maybe they were), but both the ambiance and the food were definitely missing that true sazón.

  Drove all the way from Kent. 52 minutes..... Was definitely worth the drive! We will be back for sure. Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing.

  Honestly so happy to have tried this food!! Everything is incredible and you can’t go wrong with any choice. The chicken monfongo was amazing! My son really like the chicken and cheese empanadas. Give it a try!
