  Customer service makes or breaks a business, and when a team has a star player they should absolutely be shouted out. I needed a modification for an online order because the system wouldn’t allow it online so I called but was placed on hold for an extended period of time (over 10 mins). Brandon picked up when he noticed and was immediately kind, apologetic, took ownership for the extended hold time (it sounded like whoever put me on hold forgot) and made sure my modification was taken care of. Brandon is 100% the reason our experience exceeded our expectations and his kindness and understanding was unexpected and genuine. He is 100% the reason we’ll be ordering again!

  Last night, I ordered two Big Don subs without tomatoes due to a tomato allergy. When the first order arrived, the bread was extremely hard and both subs were covered in tomatoes. Thankfully, we always check our food before eating — because in this case, it could have been life-threatening. I reordered the subs and also called the location directly to stress how important it was that no tomatoes be included. I spoke with the manager, who told me that because I didn’t order directly through Donatos, he could not omit the tomatoes. In 47 years of life, I have never heard something so unreasonable. An allergy is an allergy, regardless of how the order is placed. The second order arrived — again with tomatoes, and again with rock-hard bread. I then went to the store to address the issue in person. I calmly explained that we selected the “omit tomatoes” option when ordering. The manager showed me a generic receipt that did not list the item details, refused to look at my receipt with the details and insisted it was my fault, stating again that he could not make the subs without tomatoes. I canceled that order and placed a new one in-store for pickup. At that point, the manager refused to make my food, claiming I was being rude — despite the fact that I remained respectful throughout the interaction. As a public official, I am always mindful of how I treat others. I simply requested that my food be prepared as ordered. He continued to say he would only make the order if it was placed directly through Donatos. When I asked for corporate contact information, he went to the back, saying he would call his boss. Instead, he called the police. The police arrived, and ironically, they were already familiar with complaints about this manager. They stated they themselves had stopped patronizing this location due to previous reports of rude behavior toward customers, including friends of color. This experience was deeply disappointing. Donatos has been one of my favorite pizza places for years, and I have never had an issue before. However, no customer should be refused service or treated this way — especially over a documented food allergy and a simple request to omit an ingredient. If you’re considering ordering from this location, please be aware of this experience.
