Editing comment to provide more context after the owners response. Regular customers posting this review after a truly disappointing experience. We’ve been coming here regularly for almost a year. It’s been our go-to Indian food spot. The owner’s warm greetings, attentive service, and consistently flavorful, authentic food are the reasons we’ve loved supporting this small business. Unfortunately, everything went wrong during our visit today. As regular customers, we placed our usual order with medium spice, which has always had a noticeable kick. This time, the Paneer Chilli felt rushed and lacked flavor, and the Butter Chicken was unusually bland. We politely asked if the Butter Chicken could be spiced up, which the staff agreed to. However, our server then made a comment aloud to his colleague on 'how we ordered medium and now wanted it spicier' in a language they likely assumed we didn’t understand. That was uncomfortable. The service at this place was always top notch. The most concerning issue, however, was a serious hygiene lapse that my wife, a healthcare professional, noticed: a staff member entered the restroom wearing gloves and exited still wearing them. Then straight up walked inside the kitchen area. This is alarming and unacceptable in any food establishment. We left the place immediately as anything after this visual was unappetizing. The owner was not onsite during our visit, but sadly, this experience has cost them loyal customers. I don't think we will be returning back as anything else would be workable considering one bad day, but hygiene etiquettes don't.

When this place opened I originally left a glowing review. I've gotten takeout from this place many times over the last 3 years, and I can say that the food quality has declined over the last year or so, which is extremely unfortunate. I’ve had quite a few very mediocre meals from there recently, and considering that the meals are rather expensive as it is, I can hardly say it’s worth the price anymore. Not bad by any means, but not your first option. Besides that, my main issue with the place is how they approach tipping on credit cards. They’ve always been weird with this, and it’s gotten worse. It used to just be that when you’d pay with a credit card on a takeout order, the server would literally WATCH the screen to see what tip option you’d chose. That was already rude enough. Last time I was there, the server held out the payment terminal in his hands and TOLD me, twice, to select a tip option while he watched the screen. That is insane. I’m getting takeout, and while I do like to tip local businesses a few bucks even when getting takeout to support them, the bottom line is that it’s a courtesy. I wouldn’t be surprised if management will reply saying they have options on the screen to customize your tip or not tip at all, and that they don’t require customers to tip. But the reality is that if your server, who is holding the payment device and watching the payment screen, TELLS the customer to select an option where the biggest buttons are tip amounts of 18%, 20%, and 25% on a takeout order, you are heavily pressuring customers to tip you. What, are you expecting the customer to select the custom tip button and make the amount smaller while the server (who, again, is holding the payment device) is watching you do it? It’s incredibly slimy and feels very deliberate. Put the device on the counter, and have the servers know to physically turn away like literally every other restaurant.

Wow, my all time favorite restaurant! They nail it every single time. We’ve tried several dishes on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The owner is extremely nice and throws in a free desert when the restaurant gets busy. Very affordable and great portions. Can’t recommend them enough!

I tried Indian food for first time yesterday at Spice Delight. It was such a wonderful experience that I returned today with my son. The atmosphere is clean and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly and was so helpful in choosing a dish. The prices are good and the food was delicious! We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!!

The food was amazing — 5/5. However, the staff member who seated us and took our order was rude from start to finish. We were a group of four there for family time, and his attitude negatively affected the experience. We arrived at 8:15 PM, well before closing, so the rudeness was unnecessary. Great food, disappointing service.
