  We made a reservation for 8:30 pm on Valentine’s Day. We showed up a few minutes early and they hit us with a 40-50 minute wait even with our reservation. We decided to be patient and walk around the corner to Unhitched Brewery (which was fabulous by the way). While we were there, we started chatting with another couple who had also had an 8:30 reservation and decided to just eat at the brewery because the hostess at Scratch told them to “try coming back during normal business hours.” A couple members of the staff there urged me to call and check our reservation because Scratch has been known to do weird things. Around 9:15, I called. The hostess informed me that she was just now going through the reservation list and that our table was ready for us. We headed over there and sat down. First of all, the prices are very high for a town like Louisville. The atmosphere was giving run-down diner from the 80’s which was confusing for not only a steakhouse, but the “upscale establishment” that is advertised online. Nevertheless, we ordered and waited on our food. And waited. And waited. It was after closing time when they finally brought our meals out. My steak was ordered medium-rare. It came out blue. Completely uncooked all the way through. The waitress came back to check on us and was shocked when I showed her the steak. She took it back for an up cook and several minutes later returned with my steak that was yet again uncooked. Again she went back to the kitchen with it, returning shortly after with a steak that was nearly well done. I took a small bite this time and let her know that it wasn’t enjoyable. She offered another cut, but at this time it was an hour after closing time and my boyfriend and I were exhausted. All of our food had been cold and unappealing. The cuts of steak certainly weren't even up to par with our local steakhouse and nearly double the price. I thought our waitress was at least sweet and cordial up until she told me to take my steak home and cook it the way I wanted. Sweetheart, the steak is DONE. There is no undoing a clearly microwaved and overcooked steak. If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. We definitely won’t be giving our business to this place ever again as no part of this was worth it. I’ve never even written a review for a business but this was SO BAD that I’m hoping to save people the time and effort.

  Everything from the food to the service was perfect. Little gloomy atmosphere but gives a good old timey vibe. 9/10

  Ordered the take home meal with 6 strip steaks, mashed potatoes, and truffle Mac and cheese. Food was great and fresh. Portions were great. Great value. Very well worth it.

  Demond prepared two different family meals for my family on Christmas Day (pork chops and champagne chicken and shrimp) and they were absolutely delicious. The truffle Mac and cheese, salad, veggies, and mashed potatoes were amazing! To come in last minute on Christmas Day to prepare meals for us is such a wonderful thing to do, and the whole family was happy and loved every bite. Thank you again, Demond!
