Had a reservation at 4pm and was seated in a row next to the kitchen which was very noisy with plates etc .ask to be moved and they very politely moved us. I had the pork chop which was excellent but my husband had prime rib and he said he was disappointed because it was chewy. Normally prime rib melts in your mouth.

This is by far my favorite restaurant. My husband and I always go there on date night we try other places but nothing compares to the Barn. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. The service is excellent. All server’s are very knowledgeable about the menu and provide not only service but an experience. We had Chelsea last time and she couldn’t have been nicer. She knew the menu very well, was personable, and expressed how she loves working there. I plan on taking my mom soon and will be asking for Chelsea. The food is Always fantastic. Highly recommended for date night, family gathering, or an event.

So my wife and I went here for Valentines Day. We save places like this for our special occasions and it's been a couple years since we were here. The food, atmosphere and service has always been excellent. However, this time we were disappointed. We were seated in the rear dining room which was nice because it was bright and we were the first couple there. Our waiter "Josh" seemed nice and friendly, almost too friendly, but not over the top. The problem with "Josh" was that we didn't see him much and he didn't follow through on some of our requests. He seemed more concern with "Telling" us what we might want rather than listening to what we really wanted. I ordered the filet, Medium rare with a twice baked potato for my side. My wife ordered the Salmon with a broccoli side. After a long wait and a couple inquiries, my dinner arrived. The steak, 8oz., was cooked the way I like it and the potato was excellent. The problem with the steak was that is was not the top quality I expected. It tasted like an average filet and it wasn't seasoned very much. I had to request salt and pepper since there wasn't any at the table. I had to do the same for adding cracked black pepper to my salad. My wife's salmon looked great with the sear but was way overcooked. The large portion of Broccoli was way too much for one person and even after I help eat some there was a lot to take home. As I mentioned, we didn't see our waiter as often as we should have and had to request more water. When I go to a upscale restaurant I expect to be catered to and this didn't happen here. Maybe they were understaffed, maybe they overbooked, but in any event it wasn't the experience we expected.

We had a business dinner here. The restaurant has a classic old world charm. Service is fantastic (our server Michael was friendly and provided all the right recommendations). We had Barn Blend #25 which was smoked beautifully. Dry aged meatballs and twin bacon fillets were both delicious.

Nice, rich farmhouse feel. Good happy hour in bar 7 days a week. Bartenders for our pre-dinner drink were effective but very impersonal. Not very Cameron Mitchell-like.
Dinner server was dressed appropriately but did not understand silent service. It was a dissertation every time she stopped at table. She did a good job, but a tad overzealous.
My wife got the lobster bisque, braised beef shank and a creme brulee from the restaurant week menu. I will say the beef shank was phenomenal!
I ordered a 17 dollar bowl of french onion soup that was warm at best. My ribeye (ordered mid-rare) was half correct and the other half well done and dry. The 7 dollar bernaise sauce I requested was in a 2oz stainless steel cup and wasn't warm. The creamed spinach was very good.
Overall, the price simply doesn't justify a return visit. I mean, it was ok, but I could go anywhere for just ok. I was holding The Barn to a higher standard, and it didn't come close. Hot food and properly prepared steak isn't a special request, but a standard.
Happy 50th to me, but I'm aftaid it would've been better spent elsewhere.
