  We’ve been here a handful of times with no issue. Arrive Saturday night at 5p and only a handful of tables already sitting. We waited at least ten minutes for a server to come to our table. We ordered food and drinks (including waters) and our food arrived before waters. I ordered a margarita (asked for non-mix version) and it had no tequila (but paid $15 for patron). Upsetting how terrible our experience was. We said something to the server about the drink and the only response we got was that when he makes the drinks they're stronger (not very helpful). No issues before but tonight means we’re not coming back. Food was fine so giving two stars.

  El Vaquero is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately stands out. The space feels thoughtfully designed and welcoming—perfect for families or a relaxed night out. Family-owned since 1993 and straight out of Columbus, El Vaquero delivers authentic Mexican food that focuses on depth, balance, and freshness rather than heat. This isn’t the typical overly spicy, Americanized Mexican food—you can really taste the care and tradition behind each dish. Everything felt bold yet comforting, and clearly made from scratch, without being overpowering. What we ordered: 🍹 Buckeye Margarita 🍹 La Flaka Margarita 🥔 Papas Locas 🌶️ Chipotle Chicken Lettuce Wraps (my fave) 🍲 Pozole (Azteca chicken soup) 🥗 Fiesta Salad 🍨 Fried Ice Cream Overall, the food was good, authentic, and approachable, paired with a lovely atmosphere. A solid spot for anyone looking for classic Mexican flavors done right—we’d definitely come back.

  Food was flavorless, small, and expensive; moreover, they didn't get our order right, even after the repeated it on the phone. Much better options in the area.

  All of the negative reviews you read are accurate unfortunately. The food was not fresh in any way, the salsa was from a can, and both my friend and I who went ended up with stomach issues. The door to the kitchen was left ajar and you could see the same person handling food walk over to the POS system with no gloves/hand washing. Our server sat at the bar and was coughing/wiping his nose before grabbing our food. Paid $50 for one margarita, a taco meal, and a burrito meal. The margarita was good, but you can get the same thing anywhere else. Overall pretty bad experience, and we will not be back.
