As a non-local, Port of Peri Peri feels like a true neighborhood gem. Every dish bursts with incredible flavor—bold, well-balanced, and expertly prepared. The warm, inviting atmosphere and genuinely friendly customer service make the experience even better. This is the kind of place that’s simply too good to enjoy alone—perfect for sharing great food and great moments with others.

I’ve tried peri peri chicken at several places, including Nando’s, and The Port of Peri Peri is clearly a step above. The difference is noticeable from the first bite. The chicken here is significantly juicier, more flavorful, and grilled to perfection without being dry. The peri peri sauces have a deeper, more balanced heat and complement the chicken rather than overpowering it. Compared to Nando’s, the quality and freshness stand out. The chicken at The Port of Peri Peri is consistently moist, well marinated, and cooked with attention to detail. The sides are also better executed fresh, well seasoned, and served hot. Everything tastes made to order rather than mass produced. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and welcoming, with a comfortable atmosphere for both families and groups. The staff is professional, friendly, and attentive, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable. What truly sets this location apart is the commitment to quality, consistency, and serving fresh Zabiha Halal food. If you enjoy peri peri chicken and have tried Nando’s before, this place will exceed your expectations. Highly recommended, and easily my go to spot for peri peri in Columbus.

The chicken was amazingly tender and juicy. Don't be afraid to dig in with your bare hands. The sauce has a unique flavor thats intensely spicy and citrus. Might be a little expensive but worth the experience. They also offer lots of side dish options which aren't available at other places.

Really excellent experience. Promised spicy flavorful chicken and they absolutely delivered. I would suggest to the owner to cut the yuca fries lengthwise instead of into nuggets but other than that no notes. The dipping sauces were incredible as well, please give this one a shot if you want to try something new.

Was really excited to see a Peri Peri restraint come to Columbus - I had first enjoyed authentic peri peri in the UK in 2018 and hadn’t had it since. My mother & I went for lunch today and were pretty disappointed by the time we had left the restaurant about the entirety of our experience. We both ordered simple chicken and rice bowls (which is literally just a biryani-style rice and chicken), and an ear of corn and our entire meal came out to over $55 with a tip and one drink The entire soda fountain was out of all but two flavors, making the drink purchase pretty useless, and the tenders were mediocre at best. The rice had a very odd chemical-sort of taste to it as well and neither of us could finish our bowls The service was mediocre at best, and the workers seemed entirely uncommunicative and uncoordinated. Our food came out very quick which is a positive factor from the whole experience and something I will praise Right before our food came out on a giant platter, one of the other servers sat two bottles of sauce directly at the end of the table obstructing the actual server with our food - and making for quite an awkward experience all in all 😅 I sadly feel like I won’t be returning, and i feel like the food and service combined probably deem the cost worthy of about 50-60% of what it actually is.
