- NFNorth Carolina FamilyDec 30, 20251.0I frequent this location several times a month when staying in a nearby hotel. It is something I look forward to during my many trips to Columbus. The last few times I have dined in, I have been very disappointed. The most recent visit warrants a review, it was that bad. It was a an hour and 15 minutes prior to their posted closing time but they had closed down half of the restaurant already, concentrating diners in one small section, tightly together. It was still pretty busy as all tables in that small section were full. The staff was busy doing closing side work. The stench of bleach was overwhelming; the floors, tables and chairs were wet with cleaning solution. My server was annoyed that I asked for a dry table, evident by her loud sigh and eye roll. I ordered my usual. It arrived immediately...quite cold. The buns were crusty and cold, the hot dogs were cold, the chili somewhat warm. The check came immediately with the food and I never heard from my server again as she was busy mopping floors. I took my glass to the register to request a refill on soda and when I returned, the bus person had cleared my dinner...that I was not finished with. I complained at the register, they offered to make me another plate. I asked if it would be hot, she said "probably not, we are closing soon." (The posted closing time was still 55 minutes away.) The bus person brought me a consolation bag of oyster crackers. (Not a joke.) The highlight was the offer of a to-go cup for my soda since they had just refilled it at the counter (but I no longer had food to accompany it). I noted the names of those working but I will not embarrass them in a public review. It was the evening of Dec 28.
