I would like to start off by saying, I never ever go out of my way to leave bad reviews on places. However, mine and my boyfriend’s experience at this LaRosa’s needed to be shared.
We went to Pinot’s Palette across the street for date night. We were going to try and go to the Cheesecake Factory, but we both agreed that LaRosa’s sounded better.
We walked in at around 7:30, it wasn’t busy whatsoever. It was us and 3 other parties in the whole restaurant. We walk up to the host stand and weren’t greeted by anyone. There was no host, and we waited for about 8 minutes before someone had even said anything to us.
A man walks out of the kitchen and asks “two?” (as in how many in our party). We both replied with “Yes please”. The man grabs 2 menus, no silverware, and takes us to a table that is very obviously still dirty. He sits the menus on the table and just keeps walking. I said “Thank you!”. No reply, he didn’t even turn around to acknowledge what I said. Just went straight back to the kitchen. There were chunks of red onion that we had to wipe off ourselves, and with our hands because we were not given a napkin that comes with the silverware. (Mind you, the entire time we ate we were not given any silverware, but did get napkins when we got our food.)
We sit down for a moment, and then I went to the restroom. When I walked in, I literally had to stand there for a second because I was so grossed out. There was ALL KINDS of paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor. There was chunks of pizza sauce on the hand soap dispenser, on the part you have to push to get the soap out. There was hair and pizza sauce all over the sink, the trash can was overflowing with stuff. On top of all of it, there was no paper towels left in the dispenser. I was debating on going to the men’s room instead because of how nasty it was.
After I went back to the table, we were greeted by our server. T was her name, she was great the whole time. She asked what drinks we wanted and asked if we wanted to go ahead and put in our order. My boyfriend ordered a small cheese pizza and 5 boneless buffalo wings. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza.
We got our food pretty fast, and our pizzas were great. However, his wings were awful. I wish I would have taken a picture because they were terrible. I was honestly kind of surprised our waitress even brought them out. They were burnt brown and had barely any sauce on them. When he took a bite, it literally crunched as if he was biting into a chip. He only ate one whole wing, only because he was paying for them and didn’t want to waste. We both hate asking to send things back and be overly needy towards servers, so we didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to be rude. We also didn’t want to be crappy and ask for it to be taken off the bill, but I think it should have been if we did ask, without question.
Like I said, our waitress was great. She kept checking on us, grabbing refills, and was very sweet. We left a 20% tip because we knew none of the issues we had were her fault.
As we were walking out, the walkway between the tables was absolutely filthy. As a former hostess, this floor looked like it hadn’t been swept in days. There was whole olives and lettuce, pizza sauce, napkins, parmesan crumbs, etc. There was nobody attempting to sweep or anything. If the restaurant was busy, I would completely understand and not complain. However, by the time we left, there was one other table still sitting and one person at the pickup counter.
My boyfriend and I were disappointed because we love LaRosa’s and eat at our local ones all the time. Our experience was definitely not up to par with the bare minimum of how a sit-down restaurant should be. This was quite possibly the dirtiest restaurant I’ve ever been to and would not come back.
