The last Friday of every month, The owner of Vans Tire Pros buys all of his employees lunch, they can order from anywhere as long as it's local to the business, and not a chain, supporting small business! We decided to order San Marino's and it did not dissapoint! Aside from the food being delicious, and huge portions, I am impressed with the service, the waiter (i did not catch his name I wish I did!) was so attentive, even brought all the bags out to my car himself as I had a large order. And even more impressive? Probably first time ever...NOTHING WAS MISSING! The whole order was correct. Fantastic food, fantastic service, great for a small or large group-go visit them!

I went with a couple relatives here for the first time. The layout of the place isn't anything fancy, and I hate to say it but it is on the dingy side. The exterior look of the place isn't very charming either, it definitely was not built with a restaurant in mind and the neighborhood it's in is run down looking. It is situated directly next to a tire shop and it's also not the easies to get to if you don't live in the Ellet or Mogodore area. Location-wise this is a 1/5, atmosphere is 2/5. I had the spaghetti and meatballs with their spicy marinara, it came with two small slices of garlic bread as well. The sauce was not overbearingly hot, it was just spicy enough to give it a kick. It was a very tasty and filling meal, my brother had the Italian Stallion hoagie and his wife got a calzone. The portions for each were generous and filling, and they were fairly priced. The food is 5/5. The server did a good job balancing the tables and carry out orders, no complaints with him. There was a bit of a wait for our food after we ordered and the place only had four tables filled. But I will cut the chef slack, as the meals they give are big and they definitely put love and effort into each order. Service is 4/5. I would come back once in a while, the menu is big with lots of add-ons and options to suit anybody's taste. It's just too bad this place isn't in a nicer building and better, more easily accessible area. If it were then this would be the best italian spot in Akron.

San Marino is a classic Italian American restaurant. The entrée portions here are huge. Like genuinely they're massive you will absolutely get your money's worth. The pasta here is decent with a fairly balanced red sauce that doesn't lean overly sweet or acidic. It does walk a nice line. The marsala sauce is very rich and almost gravy like which was quite nice. But it still had a hint of sweetness to it. Entrees do come with a salad and bread so again you do get alot if food here. The biggest downside here is the appetizers they're kind of small and overpriced the mushroom croquets where roughly $10 for 5 very tiny nuggets. So i would say skip the appetizers here they're not worth it but everything else is. The servers are also incredibly friendly and attentive here. They checked up regularly and cleared down the table as needed. There is a massive parking lot here so there is usually a place to park. But if the parking lot is full you can expect to wait for a table. But if you are in the area it is worth a stop.

The food was very good, the service was not. I had a to go order to pick up. When I walked in, I was told to go to the bar and they would help me. There were two people there that eventually turned her back on me. A third person came from the back and asked if I had been helped yet? I said no, and she checked on my order and told me that it was gonna be like 10 minutes (that turned into 25 minutes but I get it) The two at the bar started filling salad dressing containers and talking amongst themselves. I started to fill out the review that you get by text and apparently it is a real time review because they immediately went to the back, came back with a third person and kind of stared me down. They then said there are alot of to go orders tonight. A young man with red hair came out of the back and stood right next to the doorway and stared at me almost the rest of the time that I was there. The one lady told him to do his job, they all stared at me and laughed. I will give the food a fantastic review. I went there, this is the first time, because I’ve seen so many fabulous reviews about it. I have seen bad reviews about their service, but I always give everybody a chance. I’m glad I didn’t eat there cause I don’t know what the Service would’ve been like if I was there to eat. Just picking up a to go order, the service was not so great.

Visited today, it was just wow! We were greeted with a smile, seen to our table, and given sliced, toasted bread with herbed olive oil dipping sauce. It gives you that small Italian joint where you know the food is good just from the vibe and white and red checkered table cloths. They do have a bar with reasonably priced drinks and a couple TVs to catch the game. There are tons of selections on the menu including salads, appetizers, sandwiches, entrée, and desserts. They even have a low carb chickpeas penne pasta option! We ordered the fried ravioli, mozzarella triangles, chicken marmalade (they were out of veal parm), and a deluxe pizza. The ravioli was served with marinara and it even had a small cheese pull. Mozzarella triangles was served with marinara and the cheese pull was pretty impressive. They didnt skimp on the marinara either! It was fresh, flavorful, and you could tell it was well thought out. The chicken marsala came with 3 pieces, tons of mushrooms, linguine pasta (perfectly done), and this rich marsala sauce (again no skimping). The deluxe pizza was perfectly balanced from the flavor of the crust, to the sauce, and toppings. Ordered canoli to go, they were out of spumoni ice cream, but told they're working on getting it back. All together it was a great experience. We will be back to try the veal parm and spumoni ice cream!
