Nice Italian spot on Ambooy Rd. in quiet Tottenville. A great hideaway place, good for dates, families, drinks, & great, unexpected flavor combinations you wouldn't expect in such a neighborhood. I had them make a 10" pizza with Genovese pesto sauce (no cheese, thank God), topped with kalamata olives, mushrooms & cherry tomatoes. When it got to the table I completed the flavors with a bit of crushed red pepper, black pepper, granulated garlic, salt, & drizzled it over with truffle oil. The truffle oil made it truly exceptional! That alone made it worth it! I added a glass of Vino Russo (Red Wine), this one a Chianti. I had only ever had white Chianti previously, this was a medium-dry, not sweet at all, and a perfect compliment to the pie. Add in the great 60s classic R&B, Soul and Classics they were playing, and the place was perfect. Just great casual dining at a great price.
