While waiting for my car to get fixed, I stumbled upon this quaint little clam bar that immediately stole my heart. Stepping inside, I was transported to a different era — rustic, cozy, and full of character. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with vintage decor and the smell of fresh seafood in the air. The highlight was, of course, the New England clam chowder -incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, rich and flavorful. Their fried clam strip sandwich...absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Locals come in and everyone knows all the tea. This place is a true hidden treasure, perfect for anyone craving authentic seafood in a relaxed setting. If you find yourself nearby, definitely give it a try — it’s a delightful find that’s well worth the detour!

The Best Clams on Earth… With a Side of Sticker Shock I’ve been coming to Bigelow’s more times than I can count, and I’ll keep coming back for one reason and one reason only: those legendary New England Fried Clams. They are, quite simply, world-class. But as a long-time regular, let’s have a "real talk" moment about the rest of the experience. The Atmosphere: The place is tiny. While they’ve added some outdoor seating post-COVID, it’s far from "cozy." Unless it’s the height of summer, expect to be a little chilly while you eat. The Food: Here is the truth—the clams and the soups are the stars of the show. Everything else? It’s a bit "meh." I recently branched out and tried the Fish and Chips, thinking they couldn't miss. I was wrong. The fish was falling apart just by picking it up and the "chips" were lackluster. At Bigelow's, the clams are the MVP; the rest of the menu is the benchwarmer. The Price Tag: This is the hard pill to swallow. The prices have climbed to a point that feels almost outrageous. It’s as if they’re testing the limits of what the RVC clientele will pay. The Verdict: I have a permanent warm spot in my heart for this place. I’ll keep coming back until I literally can’t afford the bill, but I’m sticking strictly to the fried clams. Come for the clams, stay for the nostalgia, but bring a full wallet.

1st time here and definitely won't be the last. Clam chowder was thick, creamy and flavorful. Also got buffalo fried shrimp and that didn't disappoint either. Looking forward to trying more of their stuff. Place is really neat inside also!

I honestly can’t say enough about this place. Everything is fantastic, but you have to try the New England clam chowder. Staff is always friendly and meets you with a smile. As far as the atmosphere, I don’t wanna get too Anthony Bourdain but in a world of polish and perfection sometimes it leaves you yearning for that old school charm. Which this place is filled with. You’d be doing yourself A disservice to not come here.
