  they start you off with a cup of miso soup. the handrolls were fine. i wish they had descriptions on the menu for what exactly is in all of them. the ones that are served on the set menus have descriptions, but any that aren’t on there don’t. i ordered the spicy hamachi but didn’t expect it would have jalapeno, which i don’t like.

  I go here every time I visit NYC. The food is fresh and fast and priced well. I love the hand roll style as well, easy to eat and great for a quick meal. Bar seating only, so it helps to have a quick bite and then head out! I usually get the “hungry” selection. And I will definitely be returning.

  Temakase NoMad is one of my go-to spots when I want something quick, fresh, and consistently good. The handrolls are made to order and always perfectly balanced, and the crispy rice is a must. The space is clean, the service is efficient, and it’s ideal for a casual lunch or easy dinner. I’ve been multiple times and it never disappoints.

  I had an amazing experience at Temakase Hand Roll in Manhattan. From the moment I sat down at the counter, the vibe was fun, relaxed, and welcoming, and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Every hand roll was incredibly fresh, with warm, perfectly seasoned rice and super crispy nori that made each bite stand out. I loved being able to watch the chefs prepare everything right in front of me and serve each roll at the ideal moment. The quality of the fish and the balance of flavors in every roll were outstanding, and the portions left me satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. Overall, this place delivers on both food and experience, and I’ll definitely be back—highly recommend for anyone looking for great sushi and a fun night out in the city.

  HORRIBLE TAKEOUT OPTION! I have ordered takeout sushi twice from Temakase NYC location and both times was extremely disappointed. The first time I placed an order for pickup and had requested alternates for rolls in one of their preselected sushi boxes which is an option they give you. However, they did do the correct replacements and also had a roll that I had not wanted and asked to change, completely getting half my order wrong even though I had been clear about what I wanted. The second time was a delivery order from a different NYC location that took half an hour longer than the original hour long delivery estimate. Why did it take them an hour and half to prepare my simple order of a NOM box? On top of that, both times when I tried to contact them about these issues, the phones for two different NYC locations were not hooked up and not working, despite me placing the second order a month later. So both times I had to email someone about the issue. There are so many quality sushi places at the same price point (sushi hatsune, sanyuu west, Joji, kazunori, even sugar fish for a little more $) that I have had much better experience and honestly quality at. 0/10 would not recommend wasting your time and money
