I know burritos arent traditionally mexican. I love beans. I usually get a bean burrito when I hear a burrito is good because if they do that right everything else is probably going to be impeccable. This is the best bean burrito Ive ever had. There is definitely some lard in those bean and also probably the tortilla. There is no other explanation for the depth of flavor four ingredients had. The guac had a healthy dose of lime, to the point that it was still green when the leftovers got taken out of the fridge the following day. Perfectly mashed beans, soft but some maintaining their bean-tegrity. Fantastic, fibrous, decadent.

Fantastic burrito, ridiculously expensive tho. I get that nyc is a desert for mexican food that doesnt suck, but as a californian born human, i just cant abide a $16 burrito no matter how good it tastes. Its a matter of principle. If it was like 30% less expensive i would be a return customer.
Additional notes: tortilla was the best ive seen in ny in terms of authenticity/quality.
Beans were really well seasoned and flavorful.
“Green sauce” was good but also confused me a bit. Ive never seen this sauce in my life. Sauce felt more venezuelan than mexican to me. Also would love to know where the founders are from . “North” is so vague, and ive been to Tijuana many times and they don’t rlly do burritos like that there. I wish they had some more “normal” salsa options. Id love a more traditional salsa verde or some habanero salsa. Rated the atmosphere 1 just due to how crowded it is and there is zero seating, but thats a nitpick. They did make the food super fast even though it was packed out the door. Im used to paying $5 for a bean and cheese burrito, and where im from that came with chips and a drink too. I know inflation is real, but $9 just seems steeeeep for frijol

The pollo asado burrito was good: very flavourful and seasoned well. Would go back to try the breakfast burrito. Staff were friendly. Limited/table is outside to eat there so not the most convenient in that aspect.

I ordered two bean and cheese burritos and a large side of dipping sauce for carry out . Pro tip: you get a little dipping sauce with each burrito, which might be plenty for some. I didn’t know how it would go so I ordered extra. Okay, it’s tasty, but I’m kind of a big baby when it comes to spice. Just keep that in mind in case you too have the worst gums ever. But normal people will want to bathe in it. The burritos are a good size, but not monstrous. I had to force myself to finish one in one sitting. I mean I’m obsessed with them, but they are very filling. I was skeptical before. But what’s in those beans? It can’t just be cheese. They are heavenly. And such a great NYC bargain. The second one will be for tomorrow and I’m so excited. A+++++ FIVE STARS

I’m honestly not sure why this place doesn’t have higher ratings. I moved to NY from SF and have been on the hunt for a good burrito for years, and this might be the best I’ve found in the city. I wanted the steak but they were out so got the chicken and it was delicious. Great texture on the tortilla. Chicken was smoky and flavorful, and the peppers gave it a great kick. Sauce that came with it worked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back for the steak. If there’s a better burrito in nyc I haven’t had it!
