Everything was pretty flavorless — the birria, the carne asada, the al pastor, even the tortillas, which were also hard. The esquites weren’t good either; the only thing that made them a bit better was the mayonnaise. Considering the price and comparing it to portions in New York, it felt expensive because they serve very little meat. I wouldn’t recommend it.

2 stars today. Went with 2 friends for lunch.
Service: Waited 10 mins until a wait staff approached and another 10 minutes to order only after flagging down another. Server added an unordered item, when we told the server (different vs one taking the order since we can’t find the original) we didn’t order it, he looked at the tablet and said “yes, you did.” 🙄. Overcharged us (billed us ala carte for the 2 tacos + rice/bean lunch specials).
Food: Al pastor and crispy fish tacos were under seasoned and overloaded with veg toppings. The tortilla fell apart when I picked up the second taco. Sauces were weak and watered down.
Decor was nice though.
We won’t want to risk another bad experience, at least not at the fidi Tacombi.

I definitely would not return here based on my experience. And I am flabbergasted at the 5 star reviews this place has. The food was bland, in my opinion, and dry. I ordered a couple of the tacos. I ordered a baja fish taco and an al pastor taco - I only actually received the fish taco (I was thankful to not receive the second taco after tasting the first). I also ordered a Coke, which ended up being $5 (which is outrageous for a soda). The table ordered a couple of large guacamole and chips, which were not particularly large. The chips were quite thick - I felt like I could've chipped a tooth trying to bite into them. The table ordered churros for dessert - one order for $10. We figured we'd have enough for a table of 6. We got 3. Three churros. So we split them in half to share them. They were a good texture but had an unexpected orange flavor to them, which was not mentioned in the detailed description of the item on the menu.
The environment was pretty bare bones. The chairs were hard metal chairs that you might find at an outdoor event. The service was fine, though they brought everything out piecemeal, and I never received the al pastor taco.
So yes, given the price, food quality, environment, and service, I would certainly not return here. I thoroughly regret eating here given the amount I spent.
