I bought ground beef from C-Town on 12/24. Today, when I decided to cook it, I took the packages out of the refrigerator. The meat looked pink on top, but once I opened both packages and put them in the pan, it was brown underneath and had a strong, spoiled smell. I tried to find the receipt, but like most people, I didn’t keep it. I went back to the store to inform the manager about what happened. When I explained the situation, he laughed. He then walked me to the back of the store near the produce section, where I saw a large amount of ground beef that was clearly brown and spoiled. The manager took me to the owner, and I explained the issue again. The owner told me he didn’t care and said I could call whoever I wanted. He refused to give me store credit because I didn’t have the receipt. I showed him my digital wallet transaction as proof of purchase, but he brushed me off. After that, I went back to take pictures. At that point, staff began removing the spoiled meat, but it was too late. I was able to capture images of the spoiled ground beef that was still out before it was removed. I reported them to Food safety 311

I shop here because it is the closest supermarket to me. Sometimes the meat isn't so freshly packed and I once was looking to buy this package of fresh pork products and you could see that this had been packaged even though it had fallen on the floor or the cutting/slicing machine was dirty had black stuff on the meat in several packages. That don't care and like one other shopper said you really need to pay attention to expiration dates although on meat products all they have to do is change the covering & make a new label. It's down right criminal what they do in this store. Produce is not fresh had to find decent fruits & veggies. I hope they get new management and a new way of catering to the customers. One more thing if we stop buying their dishonesty they hopefully will change. When you buy collard greens you get more stems than a little and they refuse to cut them off when in most Stores the stems are cut to where the leaves begin & the Cabbage is 90 percent of the time are stripped of all the green leaves from it. Now that some of us would like to keep. C-town PLEASE DO BETTER FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I came to return unopened cleaning products, which the cashier said I could do when I bought them. A man claiming to be the owner "Michael Martinez" was so rude and nasty. He refused to allow the cashier to refund me my money, despite the items being unopened and having a receipt. I will never, ever shop here again.
