I had even left an 18% tip for a take-out order, so this wasn’t a rushed or careless interaction on my end. After the mistake, her coworkers were apologetic — but she never said sorry, only that she “wrote it wrong.” For an Asian customer, being labeled as “Jung” after clearly giving my real name carries racial undertones and shouldn’t be brushed off as a simple mistake. A basic apology and a little more awareness would have gone a long way.
