Catch has that perfect balance of feeling exclusive but still genuinely welcoming. It was packed on a Friday night, great energy all around, but never felt overwhelming. The ambiance is a big part of it, just a really good vibe from the second you walk in. The drink menu is strong. I’m big on martinis and their dirty black martini and tomato martini were both standouts. They also have a solid selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, which I appreciated. I had a 9pm table reserved but ended up staying at the bar since we were just drinking. What stood out most was how attentive the team was. They checked in multiple times to make sure I didn’t miss my reservation, which was a really nice touch. Great drinks, great energy, and service that actually pays attention. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

Between the food and service at CATCH NYC, I don’t know what I like better. In 2021, I went to Catch for brunch and I was unimpressed. However, over the past two years, I went for dinner and I was in absolute heaven. The times Ive went, I had Christina as my waitress. I’m not sure if you can request a particular waiter, but if you can I would consistently pick Christina. She is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. It obvious she truly cares about patrons. I’m scared to try another waiter at Catch, fearful that will not live up to the standard Christina set for me. Beyond the amazing customer service, the food at CATCH is phenomenal. While the menu changes sporadically, here are a few of my favorites: The lobster malfadine is to die for and the truffle pasta is just as tasty. My go to app is the truffle sashimi. Kudos to the mixologist at Catch…with drinks so good, there’s no way you can only get one. The one thing I would change is the visibility of the restaurant itself since it is often hard to see where to enter.

Oh my goodness, where do I start. I was in the city meeting up with a friend of mine who was visiting from Connecticut on the 11th. We decided to visit the Whitney where we decided to dine out afterwards. We stumbled upon Catch, right where they were opening their doors. We had everything from the Hellfire sushi, to the truffle sashimi, madai crudo, to the fries with all the sauces on the side and much more. Our server Mat took care of us, he was excellent and very knowledgeable, he gave great recommendations. Whenever our dishes would touch the table he’d be there to introduce them and go above and beyond with extra facts about the dish. FOH was very kind, the manager even stopped bye to say hello. Dealing with drinks, my friend had the detox cocktail that was light and refreshing while I had an espresso martini made to perfection. We ended our night with the GF cake that honestly became a guilty pleasure of mine. Will be back for more!

We had the most incredible experience last night at Catch NYC and it was truly all thanks to our amazing server, Milica (Milli)! She was so personable, friendly and genuinely engaging. Her knowledge of the menu was beyond impressive. She explained everything in such great detail and made thoughtful recommendations that absolutely delivered. I'm still thinking about the crudo di tuoro and my fluffy margs! You can tell she really knows the menu inside and out and takes pride in guiding guests to the best possible experience. My husband and I have been to Catch a few times since it's one of our fav date night spots, but this visit really stood out. The already amazing food was elevated even more by Milli's exceptional service and fun personality. We're looking forward to going back and will absolutely be requesting her again. Whatever they're paying her should easily be doubled!!!

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday, expecting a level of care and attention consistent with its “fine dining” positioning. Having dined at many high-end and Michelin-starred establishments, we’re not looking for theatrics or complimentary items...but we do expect some acknowledgment of a special occasion when it’s explicitly noted in the reservation. In this case, there was none: no card, no small gesture of any kind, not even good service. It begs the question, why ask us at all? Unfortunately, the experience fell short almost immediately. Upon being seated, our table itself was noticeably unstable. It was rocking enough to make drinks precarious. This is a small but telling detail; at restaurants of this caliber, these issues are typically caught and corrected proactively. Ours was not. Service only deteriorated from there. Despite being seated before a neighboring table, they were greeted and served drinks ahead of us. Throughout the evening, our server was consistently more attentive to surrounding tables, creating a clear and uncomfortable disparity in treatment. Whether intentional or not, the contrast was difficult to ignore. Adding to this, the maître d’ made a point to check in on multiple nearby tables but never once acknowledged ours. There also seemed to be an inconsistency in the restaurant’s stated standards. We were informed of a strict dress code, yet observed other guests dining in noticeably casual attire that did not align with those expectations. It contributed to an overall sense of unevenness in both policy and execution. The food did little to redeem the experience. My partner found his dish underwhelming relative to the price, and my plant-based mushroom pasta was overly salted and largely unremarkable. A side of asparagus I ordered was incorrectly delivered as Brussels sprouts; when I asked for clarification, the server responded with “I don’t know,” followed by a suggestion that I simply keep the incorrect dish rather than correcting the mistake. He said to me, "Well, do you really still need the asparagus?" I was floored at the response and said nothing. He then said, "Maybe you should see if you like these and then I can get you the asparagus if you don't want these...and we can take it off your bill". I ultimately declined the asparagus, not out of preference, but because the interaction itself had already soured the experience. By that point, it was clear the side would arrive well after my meal, making it largely irrelevant. The substituted Brussels sprouts were also not a viable alternative, as they were bitter and overly acidic, and ultimately went uneaten. Perhaps most emblematic of the service issues was the handling of my partner’s beer, which was poured by inverting the bottle directly into the glass in a way that completely flattened it. It’s a small detail, but one that underscores a broader lack of care and basic hospitality standards for a restaurant that claims to be high-end. At this price point, guests are not just paying for food, they are paying for consistency, attentiveness, and a sense of occasion. Unfortunately, this experience delivered none of those. What we encountered was uneven service, mediocre execution, and a noticeable gap between the restaurant’s branding and its reality. We left disappointed and would not return.
