- JOJonathan ONov 17, 20252.0Panera has lost its way. I have been a loyal customer for years and it was a great fast casual lunch time go-to restaurant. I used this location regularly but wouldn't hesitate to use a Panera when ever I saw one on my travels. It seems that over the past few years the quality has declined markedly. The menu is different with less quality ingredients, and smaller portions. The ambience has changed. No longer are there runners to bring your food - you have to huddle around the kitchen for self pick up. You clear your own table. The staff attitude has also changed. They aren't really people who care about food. It also seems dirtier. The bread isn't even made on site any more -- it's delivered pre-cooked. All this means that the product doesn't reflect the premium price. Panera was never the cheapest, but it did offer value for money. Not now. So, Its no longer my preferred choice. If they don't change, I expect we'll start to see closing and eventually it will be, "Remember when we used to go to Panera? Wonder what happened to them?"

I finally get to order only to have to go back to the pickup counter to ask the person who prepared my order to give me the portion of soup I ordered. His response was i noticed that when I prepared it. Well if you knew that why aren't you giving me the correct portion I paid for.
