- NRNel RodOct 24, 20251.0I was shopping with my ebt card and one of the items that is ebt eligible wasn’t registering as a food/beverage item. The “manager”, a woman with short medium brown hair and highlights, told me she doesn’t know what’s eligible and she didn’t know what do and she was clearly pushing me to pay for it in cash when it’s an ebt item. I told her i wasn’t going to pay for it and told her to take it off, she then told me she couldn’t take it off told me to pay for it and then she would refund it. I didn’t have time for all of that so ended up having to pay for it and leaving. I am on ebt for a reason and i have a budget, I can’t afford to pay for the incompetence of this grocery store manager. This was a regular beverage item. She should know what items are ebt eligible if she’s managing a GROCERY STORE, she also hardly showed concern in the fact that the item was being registered wrong in their system which is what pissed me off the most and tells me she won’t be proactive in fixing it for the future. I will be contacting the state ebt agency to ensure they remain in compliance with SNAP eligibility rules.
