We did the 15-course tasting menu for $90, and it was absolutely worth it. Every single course was outstanding, so much so that I couldn’t even pick a favorite. I’ve had some of the best seafood in Hokkaido, straight from the source, and I can honestly say the dishes served here were just as good, if not better. The sake selection was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place!

We had the $90 omakase for 15 pieces. It’s outstanding value and quality for the price. It may have been one of my most favorite omakase experiences compared to recent ones around the city - and this is coming from someone who goes back to Japan every year.
Every piece was fresh, delicious, and buttery soft. They had some unique flavor combinations that I had never seen at other places. The place was immaculately clean.
Highly highly recommend this hidden gem in LIC.

A great experience!
The location is unusual. It's inside a commercial building, and my friend and I were the only two people in Omakase Osukaa (and maybe the building) when we sat down late on a Wednesday night. He was a bit unsettled by that but I encouraged him to stay.
The slight awkwardness of being the only two people inside this restaurant was quickly melted away by the engaging and polite conversation from the staff. We had a great time drinking sake and asking them various questions on Japanese food and culture.
I found the price reasonable for the quality of fish we ate. Every piece tasted fresh and flavorful and we ended up continuing to order from the a la carte menu after the Omakase course was exhausted. Believe it or not, my absolute favorite thing I had that night was the fish broth. Every sip felt like a warm embrace. I know it sounds silly to say the broth was my favorite thing, but that's more a testament to the quality of the broth rather than an indictment of the quality of the fish. All of the fish was perfect.
The standouts for me were the unagi, the hotate, the botan ebi, the chutoro, and the uni. All fresh and beautifully balanced.
My only complaint was the texture of the rice; some of the grains had a bit of a hard center I would bite into every once in a while. This didn't detract much from my experience as the fish was so delicious and the staff so fun, but it was a little distracting. It didn't happen in every piece and we were the last people there before they closed for the night so I can understand receiving the last of the day's batch.
Overall I recommend Omakase Osukaa and I plan to return next time I'm in the area!
