Alive Kitchen has a wonderful combination of healthy and comfort foods for vegans. Everyone is always so nice and the food is delicious. I'm addicted to the BEC breakfast sandwich!

As a vegan, I really value and cherish my local vegan restaurants. I usually order food from here and it’s usually pretty good, but I recently ordered their Ashley’s Tuna Melt and wow, what a miss for a $13 sandwich. There was no cheese — the bread was soft and damp and sweaty and the flavor of the chickpea spread was so awful I couldn’t even finish the other half. Nothing “tuna” about it. It tasted days old. It was dry and had a weird taste/smell. The unpleasant “tuna” was also warm, which made no sense considering there was no cheese to melt. Smh. I make vegan tuna with chickpea alll the time and it isn’t hard to make it tasty, when you care about taste/flavor. Also ordered spaghetti and meatballs, also superrrr dry. The meatballs had no sauce on it making it hard to digest. NY is expensive, vegan food is expensive. Please try and consider these things when customers are spending their hard earned money at your establishment.

I LOVE getting their bacon, egg and cheese! It’s so good! Their cauliflower bites, regardless of the flavor are very good too but buffalo and bbq are my favorites. I tried the pizza they had last week and I’m not sure if that’s going to be a regular on their menu but it was really good. I’ve had their tuna melt before and it’s very good too. Their fries in the past can be a hit or miss but i haven’t ordered them in over a year but i think they’re only a miss when they don’t change their oil. Their mac and cheese isn’t bad. Rasta Pasta and Ital stew are very mediocre. If you’re Jamaican, I would skip these two. I ordered the Crunchy Kale Salad from them today for $12 and I’m so disappointed in the preparation. I think you guys need to incorporate massaging the kale a little with oil, that way it’s easier to eat/digest. In addition to that, the portion sizes of the other ingredients. I was given a sprinkle of olives, chickpeas, tomatoes and cucumbers LMAO. For $12, give customers an equivalent of what they’re paying for. Placing it in that big ole container doesn’t equate to what’s inside and is a waste. Everything needs to match.
